would mnemosurgery be responsible for blocking/inhibiting certain processing functions? like suppressing the higher brain functions? Thereby reducing (temporarily not permanently) a Bot to a glorified pet or more-intelligent-than-a-typical animal?
How much mobility does Dev have given the cuffs and hobbles? And is he able to access his subspace or no? Where do you think access to subspace (to deny a Bot that) is located? Assuming one Bot is going to deactivate/inhibit another's access to their own subspace? Likewise, for commslines?

Probably wing mutilation. Blindfolding and sedatives, if they were available. Chains or whatever was on hand to use to tie up a prisoner. Though to be most blunt, because of the restrictions imposed by keeping a prisoner alive and captive, most âCons wouldnât be left alive, just dispatched fast. War is hell that wayâno one gets out of it with clean hands or a clean conscience.
What sort of restraints do you think would be generally necessary for a âCon captive of the Autobots?

Itâs dark, but in my headcanon the Autobots do use some âquestionableâ techniques now and then. Optimus knows about it, most of the time. Prowl considers it his job to come up with those horrible ideas and push for them, because Opâs so compassionate and such an idealist that he sometimes opts for kindness over whatâs necessary for survival. Torture and brain-invading isnât something the Autobots do lightly, but they do do it. Sometimes theyâll even do it to their own people.

Autobots don't as a rule abandon their own. They're taught not to expect rescue because there are too many situations in which a prisoner's location can't be determined, the prisoner's being used as bait, rescuing the prisoner would result in more taken prisoner or killed. Rescues do happen, but it's best not to count on it. In strategic terms, a captive who expects to be killed isn't going to try very hard to bargain away information for freedom.
Yeah, thatâs a good strategic point. Itâs not that they donât want to save their own, just that they might not be able to.
Jazz isn't expecting rescue--trained not to--but I think it could be done, if Dev perhaps risks sending a message on a given frequency to let would-be rescuers know where to look. Maybe Dev could ask to be taken along as payment?
Oh I see. I didnât think Autobots would abandon their own. But I guess Devâs more likely to reach the Bots, than Jazz is. Jazz would have had his comlines cut, I bet. So Dev would have to talk to Jazz a bit more to get a frequency that Autobots would recognize/respond to and send a message out, maybe encrypted in a way he wouldnât understand-via Jazz relating it to him-and hope it is picked up by the right bots. Then theyâre later rescued and taken to Autobot HQ, where Jazz can further train/teach Dev to be the multi-agent.
I had a thought/challenge that's IGverse related but not relationship-y or NSFW. Perhaps a drabble or two on Prowl's history of the war, of how OP really was as a leader. One or more (as many as you like whenever you have the headspace for these). Likewise could work for OP's logs. Or Jazz's, Rico's, any of the main war Autobots. No specifics on what is/would be covered in the logs and only when you have an idea for one that might come into play within the story or just have the idea.

I would like to see more headcanons about how he shows/doesn't show/reacts to different emotions.
(Wellâin most of the AUs/verses I play him in, Prowl was designed and programmed/raised/trained by the Library Monks of Praxus, who were of varying levels of fanaticism and plain eccentricity depending on the âverse. In all cases, Prowl was quite firmly taught that emotions contaminate rational, logical thought, and since he was designed, built, programmed, and (being) trained solely for rational thought, it was of paramount importance that he learn to at the very least control his emotions. Better if he could dismiss them or best of all stop having feelings of his own at all. He only needed to understand how other peoplesâ emotions tainted their processing, not to feel them himself. Needless to say, that pressure made Prowl more than a little weird.)
