Dear world. Let me tell you about our misery. School students of our country, Bangladesh arranged protests in the capital Dhaka because three school students were killed by a bus. The government refused to give any punishment, the killers were not even arrested. Two political parties have hired their goons to get political advantage in this situation. The party in power and the opposition party. Today, few students were killed. 4 girls were raped. Many are missing. Government has stopped mobile internet service. The local tv channels and newspapers aren’t showing anything. Dear world, what will we do? We are dying. Spread the word please. Reblog. If we die, at least let world know that something happened in this little insignificant country

Please help. The past week has been life changing in so many ways. In just three days teenagers did what the government and police officers haven’t been able to do in 47 years. The streets have never been so organized. But now the government is acting against us. They’re taking over all our media outlets from our country’s major news channels to social media. Police are beating up kids as young as 13 years old just for demanding safer roads. The government is starting to take over our social media accounts to keep this news from going international. So far we’ve been covered by BBC KBS and a few other news channels. We’re trying to get international attention so that the government will stop torturing us and we can live safe lives. Please if you can share this news on whatever social medias you have. Tag major news channels and use the hashtag #wewantjustice and #wewantjusticeforbangladesh Bangladesh hasn’t seen a movement like this since our independence in 1971.

had an argument with my dad in the car because he worries that the upcoming generations are gonna lose the fluorish of language (at first he used the phrase “flower of language”, then changed it when i asked why he’d use a weird phrase like that). he elaborated and said they’re going to say simpler phrases because they won’t want to think (??)

please dad, thats not how languages work. ive seen enough posts on lingblr (love you all, by the way) to know this.

half tempted to find papers about language evolution and how languages aren’t getting “simpler” over time and send them to him...

EDIT: i mixed up “lose” and “use.” i am a prime example of the new generation’s mastery of language.
