“You want another beer?”

“Nah, I’m good.”

Atsumu’s friend shrugs and walks away, cheering loudly as he loops his arm around one of the many pretty girls accompanying them tonight. There are two sandwiched on Atsumu’s either side, toying with his hair, with the collar of his button-up as he smiles, offering a few lazy quips every once in a while, just to make them giggle. He doesn’t really care about what they’re saying, if he’s being honest, or at least he’s not anymore. He caught a glimpse of someone he thought was you standing at the bar before he shook his head, scoffing a little.

In all the time you dated ‘Samu you rarely dressed up; the two of you were always so happy in your own little world, needing nothing more than cheap beer and izakaya, or ‘Samu’s onigiri and you strumming on your guitar. Atsumu’s not proud of the number of times he rolled his eyes and loudly called you boring, but you always laughed him off, strumming a few chords as you made fun of him right back, singing a little song about thick-headed ‘Tsumu and his big, fat mouth while Osamu grinned and smacked the back of his brother’s head.

Those days are long past; had disappeared months ago, long before you and Osamu…well, he can’t really say the two of you broke up. Not when he’s still left in the dark, still not knowing what happened, what made his brother leave. He didn’t pry, just quietly let Osamu in when he showed up on his doorstep all those weeks ago, his bags in tow. They’d spent a good month bickering with each other as Osamu looked for a new place to live, trying to remember what it was like sharing the same space again as Atsumu ignored the quiet moments his twin’s face would fall, and Osamu learned to push his feelings deep down inside himself.
