You deserve the love you keep trying to give the world.
wow post number 4.. just about a year delayed. i kind of passed this and realised i couldnât not reblog, or respond to it. it just demands that we finally stop blaming ourselves for everything. yes if you walk into a waiter holding a tray of coffees on his first day and knock him clean over, please apologise it was most probably youâre fault for being on your phone instagraming catâs in taco costumes. BUT no do not spend your single days post break up ... *coughs* 2 years later still dwelling on âwhat i could have done differentâ and âmaybe if i wasnât so demanding/needyâ âwhat did i do wrongâ. This is our problem, Iâm generalising but as women we apologise way too much! Just because he decided 3 years into âiâm so in love with you, you are the one, lets have 3 kids, canât wait tog et marriedâ that he âwasnât ready to have a relationshipâ or that âHe just thinks YOU deserve to be treated betterâ (SO WHY ARE YOU BREAKING MY HEAR SHIT HEAD) it doesnt mean that you are un loved or un loveable. Contrastingly you are actually giving love, you are honest, you are kind and open to relationships... and they are incapable of being decent, or fully loving you to the level that you deserve. My life coach once said âa relationship is an exchange, like any other and love is part of the dealâ
We were trying to crack just why I still believe i just âcouldnât live or be happy without himâ *vomits* *silly18yearoldme* *whatwasion* and i had basically been putting him on a pedestal without looking at what he did to be so great plain in writing. so... like any normal conversation with a therapist, we drew up a chart. YUP the chart that changed my life side A ME what do i give. love, respect, honesty, transport, presents, time, compromising, allowing him to choose where when what time we did everything, planning every âromanticâ thing, reminding him that it was valentines day because i had a pathological fear (i knew) that he would forget, not do anything and i would end up disappointed, spend time with his family for every single holiday, make him happy, apologize every time we had a fight, care for his health, motivate him and praise his achievements. HIM what did he give love (i thought) respect (i thought) honesty (yeah i wished) he made me laugh (so can a meme) but then lied to me about drugs, smoking, where he was chose his friends over me argued about having to spend time with me turned up 3 hours late to pick me up on valentines day because he was hungover and missed our booking, then planned absolutely nothing and took me to a random restaurant that he drove past and thought would be good (it wasnât), faked being sick to smoke weed on christmas eve so that he didnât have to come to my family christmas (after i had spent the entire morning at his), let me pay for the hotel on my birthday and then went to his work christmas party instead and came to my birthday at 11 pm off his face, got us kicked out of the bar by 12 and then passed out in the hotel, woke up and didnât even say happy birthday. Lied for me for the entire 3 years of our relationship about taking drugs, (apparently he would never) but was actually on...â LIKE ALL OF THEMâ so now that that little snap shot of the list is over... it didnât quite look like an even balance of exchanges of âloveâ cause yeah is wasnât, it was me giving, and him taking and abusing. so when one person pays $50 and the other is supposed to but is a tight ass and just keeps making excuses like he forgot it at home, hasnât been paid yet or lost his pants, person 1 should be pissed. or person 2 should give the $50. its the same for relationships and love. if you give a 10/10 in your relationship and your partner gives 4, on a good day you somehow need to get to the same level of exchange otherwise the imbalance will cause a break well i wasnât going to care less to meet his 4... and he didnât move up to a 10, but the thing was, he knew i was giving a 10 and i knew but wished he wasnât giving a low 4 this cause tension, unhappiness, need to try and fix things, spend more time together which only made it worse. until finally he couldnât deal with the guilt of knowing i was at a 10 in the exchange.... so he left. straight away i blamed me, i was too needy, annoying, caring actually i was normal, i maintained my personal values, the beliefs that were important to me, i was honest and generous and loving i respected him but he couldnt do the same for me. and so his inability to treat me how i deserved and love me rightly is a reflection of his inability to be an equal contribution to a relationship and NOT a reflection of me being unloveable. the end girl x
