Amethyst shrugged, a smug smirk on her lips “I’m actually enjoying this, it’s nice and the company is not so bad.” she looked behind her “A few guys over there already bought me drinks, it makes me feel welcomed”

“Looks like you’re pretty much set for the night then, huh?” Jethro’s eyes followed her gaze over the the guys she mentioned, they looked like they were out looking for someone to take home at the end of the night. “Well, as long as you’re enjoying yourself.”

“I’m putting all my trust in you and your timing,” she smirked. “Oh, things on my end always end up being interesting. Just depends on what you’re into.”

“Now I’m intrigued.” He smirked, eyeing her up a little. “Well, follow me. Let’s see where the night takes us.”

Sab: I'm not angry at you, I'm angry at the situation.

Sab: What happens now? Can you guys fix things?

Jethro: Could've fooled me.

“no but i’m performing like singing and stuff.” he explained before letting out a slight cough. “don’t have to come out but it might help you get your mind off some things.

“I guess you have a point there. Okay, I’m in. You want me to pick you up? Or you wanna meet there?” Jet asked, pushing back from his desk. “Is there gonna be booze at this thing?”

Emerson rolled her eyes and then motioned to herself. “I’m on IMD and you definitely haven’t watched good TV or movies in the past ten years.”

“Am I supposed to know what that is? Some people actually have more to do with their lives than sitting in front of the TV.” Jethro said in his defence. “Hard to believe, I know. But, it’s true.”

Arizona looked at the ducks in the kiddie pool before her eyes wandered back to the male in front of her. “Oh, uh – Well, you can go purchase tickets over at the booth or I take cash if necessary,” she mentioned. “Did you play the other games here? There’s just so much to do on the pier.”

“How does this game even work? You gotta catch the ducks or something?” Usually Jethro was too busy at work to come to these things, and even as a kid, it had never really been his thing. “Honestly, no. I’ve just been walking around looking for a place that sells beer.”

Arizona, being the only one supporting the hook-a-duck game, was doing her best to keep people happy as well as herself. With frizzy hair and a gentle smile, “Five tries to hook-a-duck for two tickets! Get the green, you win a small prize. Get the blue, you win a medium, and red – you win the big prize. It’s super easy and it’s lots of fun!” she called out to the person walking by.

Jet had been walking around for a while, keeping his head down and just trying to keep to himself when he heard someone calling out to him. “Huh? Oh, I don’t have any tickets or whatever.” It wasn’t something he’d gotten around to doing, mainly because he hadn’t planned on playing any games.

a life lesson for charlie would be going into school on a summer holiday, wouldn’t be the best idea especially with this festival outside of his window. although the secondary school is further away from the main center of town, they weren’t too far away for people to walk here. or even see the small city come to life. this was when charlie had to just look instead of focusing on the current marking, his finger twiddling away on his phone to call a certain someone. or anyone.

“um hey? wanna go to that summer festival? apparently i could perform there.” he asked in a shy voice, not too sure of the nature of how serious they would be to go with him. but just have some one take him there would be alright.

Jethro was at home, sitting at his desk staring at the papers he had scattered around. He was burying himself in work and it just wasn’t working. He’d gotten himself lost in thought when his phone started ringing. Lost under all of the papers, Jet searched for it with less haste than he probably should’ve. When he finally found it, he answered and put it to his ear. “Hello?” It took him a moment to recognize the voice at the other end, but when he did he leaned back in his chair. “I was going to try and avoid it if I could, honestly. Are they doing karaoke there or something?”

“For just one ticket you get to kiss a hot celebrity and help a good cause. Is this even going to a good cause or did my manager sign me up for something ridiculous for no reason?” Emerson questioned to herself before spotting someone. “You look like you’d be good at kissing, got a ticket to spare?”

Jet really didn’t want to be at the festival, but he’d found himself there anyway. “Where’s the hot celebrity?” He asked an eyebrow raised at the woman who had spoken. “Is it you? Because I honestly don’t think I’ve ever seen you before in my life.”

“What a gentleman,” Liv drawled right back as her dark orbs gave an obvious roll in response. Really though, the gesture was completely lost behind the fact that the girl was still laughing. To anyone else it would’ve seemed like they truly couldn’t stand one another, but they each knew at the end of the day their friendship would remain. “You haven’t done it yet, though, which means I still have a few more moments of aggravation left. So— tell me what’s new. What’ve you been up to lately?”

Jet matched her eye roll and leaned back a little. “Yet being the keyword there. Give it time.” He was joking again of course. Sometimes he wondered how managed to put up with each other’s crap the way they did. But, when it came down to it, Jet knew he wouldn’t have it any other way. “Sweet fuck all. Just working and doing the dad thing. Same old shit. What’s new with you?”

“One that was about to slam on me and cost me a long time customer.” She said honestly. “So thanks.”

“Oh, well, I’m glad I could save you from that, I guess.”

“I hope by interesting you mean fun,” she mused as they headed towards the place that held much promise. “I would be very pissed considering I’ve wasted an hour sitting in that boring bar. I need some good shit,” she smirked.

“Interesting is what you make it.” Jet countered as he walked. “Trust me, you’re in for a good time. You just gotta know where to be and when. It’s all about timing.”

“Honestly? It shocks me, too. How has nobody offed me yet? It’s a miracle.” Smirking over the rim of her bottle she struggled to contain a laugh. “And I’m well aware. It’s yet another reason why I’m truly surprised that nobody’s taken out a hit on my life. The world must have a limitless supply of patience. I’d have gotten rid of me ages ago.”

“Give it time, I’m sure someone will.” Jet teased, shaking his head. “Honestly, with each passing second, I’m getting closer and closer to putting the world out of it’s misery.”

Sab: And Ems just wasn't having it when you explained this right?

charlie: no. no mate.

charlie: but we can chat it out?

Emma was angry and she was frustrated and feeling twenty million emotions at once, most of which she didn’t allow herself to feel most of the time, but when she did, she became unstable. “You’re the one not putting up a fight here, which just means what I fucking suspected in the first place.” She stated bitterly, throwing her hands up in the air. Right now she wouldn’t believe what he said, the trust had been broken. It had taken her long enough to build up trust for him anyway, and now it was quickly gone. “Well, I certainly can’t believe you anymore now can I? You could’ve called and told me Jet, don’t use it as an excuse. Are you fucking bored already? Is this what this is about? Is it me? What the fuck, Jet.”

“I’m not putting up a fight because I really don’t see the point. You’ve clearly made up your mind about all of this. What’s an apology going to do? It’s not going to change what happened.” He said, shaking his head. Jet could’ve easily kissed the woman back, but he hadn’t. As far as he was concerned, he hadn’t really done anything wrong. Whether there was any truth to that, that was a different story. “Up until this moment, what have I done to make you not trust me? Because I’d like to know. I finally opened up to you, I offered to let you stay here after what happened at work, I’ve been working at home so I can help you out. What more do you want from me, Emma? If you really want me to apologize, fine, I’m sorry that someone I really don’t give a fuck about anymore went all open season on my lips.” At her questions, he simply rolled his eyes. “No, I didn’t call. But, I’m here now. I came home to you. Surely that counts for something. Bored? Do you really think that little of me? Seriously? No, it’s not you. I didn’t fucking do anything, Emma. You need to calm the hell down.”

“Good thing I don’t have any then,” she retorted with a grin. “Walk is fine with me, unless you want to carry me? I’m all up for that too.”

“As tempting as that is, let’s get going. It’s about now that things start getting interesting there, and I’d hate for you to miss the good shit.”
