Who except God can give you peace? Has the world ever been able to satisfy your heart?

I have given God countless reasons not to love me. None of them has been strong enough to change Him.

Do you not know? Do you not know that every artist is madly in love with each work of art that they call good? Do you not know that God called us very good? We look at creation and see the beauty that it holds and say to ourselves “Oh how God must love it all! I am but a speck in the expanse of it all!” and still the Artist dances and says “Look! Look what I have made, what I am still making! Look how good it is!” and the whole of creation thinks “Oh how God must love this work of art, this precious masterpiece.” With each brush stroke, you are loved, with each hour that is spent in the details, you are being prepared. In the end, you will be signed with the signature of the greatest artist who ever was, put on display so that the world will know that Christ made something great.

You may fear that the Lord has passed you by, but it is not so: he who counts the stars, and calls them by their names, is in no danger of forgetting his own children. He knows your case as thoroughly as if you were the only creature he ever made, or the only saint he ever loved. Approach him and be at peace.

Jesus did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.

And this is the marvel of marvels; that he called me Beloved.

Legalistic remorse says, ‘I broke God’s rules,’ while real repentance says, ‘I broke God’s heart’.

God’s grace calls you to suffer and it calls you to wait, but it never calls you to stand in your own strength or to stand alone.

“Even when I hear nothing, I rest in knowing He hears me.”
