I think what makes Skyrim a more fun fantasy game than other fantasy video games (including other TES games) is how stupidly mundane it is. Like, yeah that lady and her husband are vampires, but they’re also our local lumberjacks and contribute significantly to infrastructure and economy. Leave them alone. 

gotta say, i love how much of skyrim's lorebooks lie to you. i literally don't mean this in an unreliable narrator way i think it's just in a "broken game" way. you can see where something got fucked up in the way.
