i keep thinking about the whole "one is so nerfed!!" thing. i quite seriously think yall forget the algebraliens are CONSTANTLY underestimating the Audacity objects have.
like back home fifteen is seen as overly aggressive. average object would try to go toe to toe with satan and multiple of them fucking have. they genuinely have no fear sense of self preservation because they dont NEED to, their culture itself is ROOTED in the idea that death is impermanent and because of it they are all Used to being impulsive and unpredictable, unlike algebraliens who are used to death being a Big Deal, and the idea that youd hesitate to just fucking deck someone 100x more powerful than you is obvious to them just like it is us. like if you were holding a bazooka you would not just like..expect someone to walk up and punch you in the gut. they genuinely do not understand the audacity of objects and that is the advantage objects have over algebraliens like this is extremely well established by now idk how yall are suprised. also notably none of them even beat her they distracted her at best. so like
"one is so nerfed!!" one grew up in a world where chasing someone with a knife is seen as terrifyingly aggressive and unsafe.
blocky made an entire career out of recording videos putting people in endless death loops where they are in incredible pain for every single part of it and are at his whim to stop it and hes seen as like kind of an asshole at worst

i fucking hate deserts in video games they are boring as fuck and rarely contribute any interesting ideas or music yet they are in every platformer or kart racing game ENOOUUUUGGGHHHH
now look i don't MIND a desert level but the aesthetic of desert levels is just so much more... set-in-stone than other level themes.
For example, with the grassland/overworld thene it can vary from game to game! You can get creative with the enemies and objects you put in it, it can be sweets/candy themed or something, even! With an underground theme, it can be in the sewers, in a crystal cavern, you can make things fun!
But with a desert theme? You just get the basic old sand, maybe a cactus or mummy enemy, and the overused trope of some random pyramid in the background like Egyptian deserts are the only ones we know of (every single time. and where there's a pyramid there's more mummies). If they're feeling bold, the sand can be red! That'll shake things up, surely! Maybe a patch of quicksand to keep the players on their feet.
It just feels like the trope of a desert level is just so thoroughly explored that it's just the same things rehashed every time you see a popular one
and dont even get me started on the music.

hello yes this is my animation I made it with love
made by me btw I made this
I got the sound effects from wherever lol
oh another thing about the "one didn't want a repeat of three" thing I've seen some peiple use as an excuse for one being nerfed, she literally blew up entire planets and clearly saw that the numbers were fine???

This is probably the most samples I have ever used before in this system. Finding the original samples used in Sonic CD was actually easier than I expected (A huge amount of them are from Zero-G) The thing is that this project started out as an accident after I started finding the sounds while browsing through a Zero-G catalogue and immediately clocking them as the sounds I knew from Sonic CD. Trying to recreate the sampling using the same source materials proved to be a lot harder in the UltraBox framework than I had hoped, and then in the middle of polishing it I lost internet access for three days and had no access to the project at all. I'm not sure the exact moment I realized that I wanted to go through with this and turn it from a concept to an actual post, but at some point during my mind started to wander to the jovial menace of Robotnik (as portrayed by the late Long John Baldry). At some point Sega canonized that version with his own game on the Genesis: Mean Bean Machine. He was no internet icon at the time, but looking back it's kind of surreal that the goofy character in the online sentence mixing videos native to YouTube got more love from his parents than the Phillips CDi characters did. I've actually played the older Sonic titles and I know that in this day and age there's stiff competition for what version of Eggman is the most beloved. For me it's still the goofy cartoon one. His voice is astoundingly rich, and given that Baldry sung the blues, who could be surprised? It had to be him. He needed to be in the song. So now he is. Does it make the song less serious? Of course! Nothing about this project was meant to be taken terribly seriously to begin with. Doing things "from scratch" using the limitations of the hardware of UltraBox was the adventure. Now I get to share a cozy hot cup of whatever this thing even is. I just hope somebody else gets a kick out of it.
i just relaized im slowly falling back into the forsaken fandom (as in more forsaken videos are being recommended to me) I gotta steer hard and overcorrect into bfdi before I go back to liking the game /hj
