It used to be annoying that I never knew stuff about popular media. However it gets to a point where it’s really funny. Especially because if I have peripheral information I’ll assume the rest and not notice.
One example of this is that I thought geto was a teacher at the school and was undercover with the curses. I believed this throughout watching the first season.
However the original point of this post is actually that I found out today that there are a bunch of marvel venom movies. I was aware of all the Eddie and symbiote fandom stuff… I just assumed it was all extrapolated from the spiderman 3 movie in 2007.
Additionally when the umbrella academy was coming out I was interested but had no energy for tv. I would hear bits and pieces along with photos and in my mind they were glued together like a shitty collage.
However I am face blind and never noticed that Elliot Page was in the show. I only knew that someone’s character was trans in some way.
All this is to say by the time I actually watched it this year I expected five to be nonbinary. And genuinely cannot divorce this.
Also I missed the part about magical powers and I was baffled while watching it.
