“Carsten Höller: Upside-Down Mushroom Room” opens tomorrow, April 20 at Fondazione Prada, Milan. Go check it out! Carsten Höller will re-create his “Upside-Down Mushroom Room” from 2000 for the opening of Fondazione Prada’s OMA-designed building. Originally trained as a scientist with a doctorate in biology, Höller is inspired by research experiments and by the world around him. Mushrooms have regularly featured in his work since 1994; in this case, the red-and-white fly agaric fungi are gigantic and hang upside down from the ceiling.
