Whats going on Van! Love your work! I just had a quick business question... I have a pretty large company interested in purchasing some of my images. I have never dealt with something like this before & am pretty ignorant on the subject, but do you have any tips for me?
This can always be a tricky situation. There are traditionally two ways to go about this.
1) Selling the rights to your image - If you don’t care where it goes or what they do with it you can outright sell them image. You would be relinquishing your rights to the photo all together but usually in this situation the pay should be higher if doing so.
2) Licensing your photo - The other option would be licensing your photo to the company. Usually you can put a time limit on how long they can use your photo and where. It can be limited to digital platforms, print, etc. This can be a little more complex but works out because you still retain your rights to the photo and when the term is up you can work out another deal if they wish to continue using it.
There is a term called “usage rights” in photography. It definitely doesn’t hurt to read up on this. In regards to your situation I think it is a matter of what makes more sense to you and how attached to the photos in question you are. Hope this helps!

i dreamt of this place. not just finding it, but how to get in. and it turned out to be exact, months later. my dreams (nightmares) are always mega intense, for once i’m thankful for it.

If you're looking to get better at photography in 2016, one great option is to do a 52-week photography challenge that forces you to complete regular assig

“I’ve always liked to do nice things for strangers. I worked in the mail room at my college dorm, and whenever I emailed a package notification, I’d always add a little something extra. Like an awesome shark pic. Or a link to Japanese jazz. Lately I’ve been doing this thing where I buy really weird antique post cards, write poems on them, and mail them to random people I find in the white pages. The first time I sent one, I added a full-page disclaimer because I was worried some old person would think it was from ISIS and call the cops. I basically wrote: ‘Don’t worry. It’s art. Everything’s cool. You won’t be hearing from me again.’”
