Her best friend got injured in a freaking earthquake. If life didn’t suck enough, this had to happen while she was gone which instantly filled her with guilt. Jemma was the closest thing to family that the artist had, she should have been there. “Jem, I’m sorry I wasn’t here,” she said without a moment of hesitation. Charlie couldn’t help but smile when Jemma’s mood shifted to concern immediately. Sure the two of them had their shit, but they always seemed to put the other first. “Romeo, I’m good. Don’t go getting all soft on me. I know you have a girl now and shit, but Jesus man, don’t become what you eat. I don’t deal with pussies.” The artist figured that her best friend got enough people tip toeing around her and treating her differently since the accident, so she didn’t need anymore. Charlie would treat her the way she always did. “I don’t need a cripple, but I could use my best friend. If you wanted, I need a manager,” she said with a shrug. Honestly, she needed someone she could trust to make appointments for her, keep people in line, and handle money. Since she didn’t trust many people, the list of prospects was short. “Don’t know if you’re bored or want a job, but it’s there if you want it.” 

Jemma fiddled with the blanket on her lap. It was something she often did now. The last thing she needed was for someone to see the rods. They repulsed her-- she could assume it was worse for others. “Shit happens,” she shrugged, not upset with her on that account. She understood that some things were out of their control. But she was still bitter over the fact that she had to hear from Catie of all people. At that particular time she still wasn't the most keen on the blonde.  “Oh, fuck you... I was just trying to give you a listening ear or whatever normal people do,” Jemma retorted, a slight smirk forming. It was nice to not have everyone on eggshells with her. It actually made her miss a certain Australian. Besides Charlotte, Adeline was the only other person that treated her normally. “A manager? You trust me with something like that?” It would give her something to do to take her mind off everything-- the earthquake and her own addictions. “I have been pretty damn pretty bored...”
