So here’s Day 5: Scars

I made a playlist of my favorite videos, the ones important to the “story,” and just ones with animals.

I made this specifically for a friend that is really late, but I think this is good for everyone.

Imma rant about this for a bit.

I recently started a streak of watching all Unus Annus videos from start to finish. I was doing well, I got to “Eating Fire,” but also got behind in the new videos. But I kept going. At like 10:00 on my third day of this streak, I got a really bad headache. I realized that I should probably take a break, but my anxiety was messing with me and I felt so panicked about not finishing this streak. I’m pretty stubborn, so usually I see things through even at risk of my health.

So then I decided to actually take a break. And by that I mean watch the newer videos, which were “Recreating Every Single Unus Annus Video” and “All Our Video Ideas That Never Happened.” I know that’s not an ideal break and probably worse, but I can’t change that now.

I watch those two videos, and at “Recreating Every Single Unus Annus Video,” I realized that I very vividly remember every video. I realized that the videos I didn’t even get to on my streak of watching them all... I still cherished and remembered them.

I joined this cult at the half way point. I had to catch up. But I realized... that I did cherish those moments more than I would have if I knew it was staying on YouTube. I have a horrible memory, but I remembered every video. I remembered each title and what the contents of each were(mostly). That was honestly the moment I fully understood the channel and the meaning Mark and Ethan talked about a lot.

I heard what they said and was like “yep I get it.” But that was the moment where I actually got it. It took me awhile, but I actually understood. I know that I will never be able to watch any of these videos again, but I was able to cherish them enough and remember them with my terrible memory. I ended my steak of watching all the videos. I will be rewatching some of my favorites one last time, but that’s it. Because I have the experience of being here for this channel that lasts only for a year and the memories of each video, and I know that is all I need.

My wording might be weird and all, But I hope that whichever cult member reads this understands the meaning behind this channel eventually. And of course, we all learn and interpret things at different rates, so don’t rush this process or force yourself to understand.
