Andrew Chuani Ho, a Los Angeles native, creates vibrant scenes with colored pencil on paper, with works that are both bizarre and autobiographical. Read more on HiFructose.com.

There's a dark world of human trafficking happening in the Bay area and across the country, where kids and adults are held captive for sex. But you may be able to help the victims, the next time you stay in a hotel room, just by snapping a few pictures.
Autoplay video at link.
The app allows hotel guests to enter information about where theyâre staying, including the hotel name and room number. They can also upload four pictures of their room. Â Investigators across the U.S. can then cross-reference those pictures with hotel photos of trafficking victims that typically appear online to see if there are any similarities using cutting-edge image analysis.
âThe algorithm that is being run is actually matching data points in the clean photos that the public is uploading and comparing it to photos that are found online,â says  Molly Hackett, creator of the app.
âHaving an app like that will be a very beneficial and useful tool,â says Hillsborough County Sheriffâs Office Detective Larry McKinnon. Â He says it could tip off investigators to a victimâs location and save valuable time when lives are on the line.
âThey can get that information back to law enforcement and maybe save someoneâs life,â McKinnon says.
So far the app has accumulated more than 1 million hotel photos. Â Developers say they have an 85% success rate of returning the correct location to investigators within the first 20 hotel options.
Itâs not really an app â itâs a mobile site you can find at http://traffickcam.org/

Me 10 years ago: I never use online abbreviations! standard english all the time!
Me a couple of years ago: u kno wat fuck it
Me now: it is impossible to communicate effectively online without using internet slang due to the mixed mode format and lack of paralinguistic features. Things like lack of punctuation, abbreviations, acronyms and such all have their own connotations and communicate far more than their commonly accepted meaning. Linguistics has evolved. n u kno what i love it
Video Wednesday No.15 - Leafy Letter A
Iâll be doing a series of Leafy Letterforms but I need to figure out a few different styles and this is one of them.
What do you think?
Itâs been documented time and again by psychologists and counsellors who work with assault survivors: in reaction to trauma, many women will do things they later regret because they felt somehow compelled to âbe nice.â Itâs a bit of social conditioning â be deferential, fix problems, avoid conflict at all costs â that keeps women uniquely vulnerable as they recriminate themselves for things that arenât their fault. Even though no one but rapists are to blame for rape, many women carry their pacifist conditioning over into the aftermath of sexual assault, especially when they know the attacker: Maybe Iâm overreacting? Maybe I misinterpreted? Maybe it was me? Amanda Dale, who is executive director of the Barbra Schlifer Commemorative Clinic, a Toronto organization for women facing violence, says that this peacemaker programming is lifelong and âlike a gauze over everything we do,â so that women donât even notice its effect half the time. âWe are taught from a very young age that the most important thing to do is to be nice and carry on and keep everyone connected. There is no form of violence against women where there isnât an element of this. We create these expectations of girls and women, and then we turn on them,â says Dale, referring to the collective exasperation of the public toward abused women who stay or those who remain connected to assailants they know.

The dawn of mankind, a time with no rationality. An ancestor contemplating the cosmos perceives the necessity of a divinity. The Second Cosmogony takes place along with the miracle of self-thinking consciousness. In that moment he knows he exists for a reason; heâs got the significative element and this had found a way to reveal itself to him. Conscious and Unconscious got together in the creation of the Self. Â Â
