Daphne Blake is based on Daphne from Scooby Doo. She is a 26 year old human, detective, and uses she/her pronouns. She has no powers. Daphne is portrayed by Havana Rose Liu.
it’s so awful of her, she knows, but she does not miss her family as much as she should. she was constantly being overlooked at home, only a pretty face and nothing special like her five sisters. they were all already successful with amazing jobs and special talents and her parents just saw daphne as a pretty little thing they could marry off to whoever fit right into their perfect family. nothing she was interested in made her parents proud and that stung. so...being away from them without being financially cut off isn’t really looking like a bad thing to her.
she has always had an interest in mystery solving and detective work. no one ever believes her because of her looks, but she really does enjoy what she does! she doesn’t know as much lore as shaggy and she isn’t as smart as velma or as crafty as fred, but she is still interested in all elements that came with solving mysteries.
the moment they were in evermore she saw it as her chance to prove herself. she made sure that fred knew she was interested and she made sure to do the absolute most to come as close to finding a way out of evermore as she could. she is still on the hunt, not afraid to put herself in dangerous situations because as much as she gets into them, she gets out of them every single time.
she is for sure the one who spends the most for the sake of the team. she is fine with that since she has the money to do as such, but she does often wonder if her friends just see her as an open atm instead of someone who contributes to the team.
when it comes to her passion for fashion, she takes it super seriously. a lot of her taste hasn’t left the late 90s and early 2000s and it shows in her collection of clothes. she is super proud of it and her apartment is more closet than it is a home because she is constantly adding to it.
she is allergic to imitation animal skin and shellfish. both of these things have helped her solve mysteries in the past. but since she is big into fashion and can’t ware fake furs, she avoids most of them altogether. she isn’t trying to upset anyone with that.
some of her talents include lock picking, surfing, acrobatics, and riding motorcycles. all things she learned from her sisters or perfected during her many mystery cases.
while she is so happy for shaggy and velma a huge part of her is....jealous? she isn’t sure if that’s because her and fred can’t seem to get it right or because she loves them both so deeply and..she just doesn’t know.
when it comes to romance she is trying to branch out. her stupid crush on fred is still very much there, always has been really, but she wants to have some fun and date other people! she has dating apps that tend to go off during the middle of a mystery case and she is fine with that because she hopes it makes fred jealous. she hooks up with people here and there, but she is pretty picky with people because of how stupidly in love she is with fred.
her favorite color is purple and she almost is always wearing purple in her attire somehow. it is her color, plain and simple, and one day she will have the rights over it. just girly things.
she wants to learn martial arts. she wants to be able to defend herself for when she does get into her damsel in distress situations and she wants to be able to be someone that throws everyone off guard just because they never would expect her to defend herself.
she is big into astrology. the girls that get it, get it.
she has a deep love for journalism. she kind of thinks it would be neat if she could be a journalist herself someday. back home, she didn’t know if that was possible...in evermore? maybe. she is busying herself with solving this mystery but what was adding a few college courses going to do? it was going to be hard work but...she wants to try. she wants to give herself a fair shot.
she is determined to create a new mystery machine....she knows nothing could ever replace the old thing but she feels that if she can give her friends this, then maybe things will feel a lot better.
