Throughout the beginning we know that Orion and D16 are the bestest of friends. They seem to really hang out with each other. However we see Orion socialize with other bots such as Elita One and Jazz. But D? He doesn’t talk to anyone, just Orion. And yet i noticed whenever Orion talks to other bots D16 gets annoyed.

Mainly, the scene where we meet Elita One proves this. As Orion tries to flirt and compliment Elita One D16 looks annoyed and kinda hostile towards Elita.

Now it may be just because he’s disappointed that Orion is embarrassing himself but we later see this when they meet B127

As B127 tells them about how long he has been here, Orion looks concerned and asked if he’s been here this whole time while D16 is annoyed and only asked how he can get out of here.

And as the story progresses we see that D16 barely interacts with Elita and Bee at all and vice versa as the two talk with Orion more than with D16.

What I’m saying is that while being who is Orion still had friends to lean on while D16 didn’t and depended on Orion to be there with him forever. And later we see that D16 uses this to lift himself up while putting Orion down like when he says he “only thinks of himself,” and yet he doesn’t care about the safety of Elita and Bee throughout the mission. And we know this sticks with Orion later when he tells Elita he should have “stayed on protocol.”
