“it affects everyone differently,” she said, exhaling the smoke. “what am i, ya mutha’?” the new yorker’s accent slipped. “start small, you’ll choke if you take too much. it’s not like a cigarette,” she said, holding the joint out to him. 

“just because i’m smaller than you doesn’t mean you need to bring it up!” haeju pouts almost instantly, crossing his arms over his chest as his bottom lip juts out for extra dramatic effect.  "that sounds pretty damn kinky to me, jay. remind me again why we’ve never fooled around?“ haeju teases, sticking his tongue out at the other in a light and playful manner. "though i do tend to cling to people when i cuddle them…” he continues, flopping his body-weight onto jay as a small bit of laughter falls from his lips. “i don’t dress better than you, that’s bullshit. you dress better than me, i just like to show off.” the silver-haired male points out, gesturing towards his semi-fancy shirt that he chose to wear even though it was just the two of them. “you’re not sorry you little shit! there’s only room enough for one brat in this apartment, and it’s me!” haeju giggles, dramatically throwing his arms across jay’s body before a small scoff passes through his lips. “i’m teasing and you know that. there’s a thousand and one designers, all of which have our names written all over them.” he states, wiggling his brows at the other. “honestly? that’s all i do too. or i go with what i think would suit me best. guess it’s luck.” there’s a certain nonchalance to haeju’s tone as he speaks, though that’s quick to fade as the other starts his attack on haeju’s cheeks. “hey, hey!! cut it out!!!” he giggles, grabbing jay’s wrists as he attempts to get the other to stop squishing his cheeks. “they might be cute, but they don’t need to be squished!”

“of course not, but you don’t have to,” she said. “but i mean, if you insist, then you already know my favorite way of sharing is food, so you should call in to the jip joint down the street and order burgers cause i haven’t eaten in two hours,” she said. “you know how to hack a bank and make my credit card ‘paid off’ with an unlimited balance? cause i’ve been researching into that and can’t figure it out, i almost got caught.” sunny nodded with a small hum. “mhm. i don’t wanna see her. my ass would be crying like a little bitch. we can go to mom and pop’s house after. hang out in the tree house.”

“hey, i am sunshine fucking de fazzio, i don’t need hand outs, pretty boy,” she said, poking him in the chest. “and besides that, i make my own money aside from my trust fund. haven’t touched that bitch for anything except school, and now that i’m graduated and officially a business owner… i’m not gonna need to touch it cause i make enough money with a little help of my trusty hacker skills because i hack the payroll.” sunny ran her hand through her hair, wrapping a few unruly curls around her finger to shape them back up. “they’re going to announce when they’re about to open the casket and let people exit to the burial site who don’t want to see her. i wanna remember her the way she was, not laying in a coffin.”

“fair point, one i can’t argue because you know i have a tendency to over-pack too.” he teases lightly, another giggle falling from his lips as jay joins him on the couch. “you act as if either of us would honestly say no to that, or to you.” he says, gently tapping jay’s nose with the tip of his finger, grin pulling on his features as he speaks. it’s easy to be around jay, especially since they did have as much in common as they did. “fashion was my first true love, jay. of course i love it as much as you do. i’d say more, but i’m not trying to get into that kind of arguement with you.” the silver-haired male continues to tease, giving jae a wink as he nudges the other with his elbow lightly. “chanel suits you far better than it would me, you’re not wrong about that. but nothing would suit you even better.” there’s a slight smirk and playfulness in haeju’s tone as he speaks, brow wiggling at the other. “you already ordered stuff?? without me?! i’m heartbroken, really!” haeju says, clutching at his heart in an overly-dramatic fashion. “this is the ultimate betrayal, jay. i can’t believe you.” the male continues, the dramatics never halting. “it better not, i’ll hunt you down and force you to go with me even if you’ve bought the entire store out already!!” he giggles lightly, rolling his eyes as he leans his head against jay’s shoulder. “your secret is safe with me, as long as you keep mine: no one is as cool as i am.”

“yeah i know, but if i don’t work then i don’t have backup money if my black card ever gets termed,” she said. sunny shrugged and leaned against the counter. “no. everyone loved her. i cried like a bitch when i found out she died. the priesthood is gonna escort her hearse to the cemetery. the bronx and manhattan chapters are gonna be there in porkchop and hippie’s honor.”

haeju can’t stop the giggle that falls from his lips as the other gives him a hug, quick to return it by wrapping his arms around jay. “six more? and here i thought i was bad at over-packing.” he teases, gently patting jay’s cheek with the palm of his hand before a grin is painting it’s way onto his features. “it wouldn’t be a bad thing, no. but you’d either have to sleep on the couch or share a bed with me — or hunny. that’s up to you.” there’s a wink that follows his words, a small nod of his head. “and you know i love how you throw sleepovers, wouldn’t keep having them with you if i didn’t.” the silver-haired male replies, flopping himself down onto the couch as he watches the other start to open one of his bags. “i didn’t expect anything less, jay… i spent literally the entire day rearranging my closet by brands just for this purpose as well!” he chuckles, brows raising lightly as the other starts going through the brands he’d brought with him. “one day we’ll get you to love gucci as much as i do.” there’s an over-dramatic sigh that falls from haeju’s lips as he speaks, though his features show the other he’s merely teasing. “we need to go shopping soon, balenciaga dropped their new summer line and i’m sure a bunch of other places did too.” he continues, running his hand through his hair before patting the spot next to him as an invitation for jay to join him. “lies and slander. i’ll always love you and just how extra you are, no matter what you have up those expensive sleeves of yours.”

haeju had been straighting up his room when he heard the kick to the door that jay had placed to the wood, alerting the silver-haired male of the other’s presence as he finishes up placing a few new decorative pieces on his bookshelf. “i’m in here!!” he calls to the other, turning on his heel to make a bee-line towards the living room. that’s when he hears the thuds of the other dropping the backpacks onto the ground. “good lord, jay.” haeju teases lightly as he finally enters the living room, eyes falling to the bags that were already on the ground. “that’s fine with me, figured that’s what we’d do anyways!” he grins, brow raising as he listens to jay. “more? how many? it’s like you packed enough to move in. or stay for a month long.” the male teases lightly, going over to the door to prop it open. “it’s okay, i still love you i guess.”

‘you’ve got odd taste in friends,’ adan replies with puzzlement. after a long time recalling the mention of thief, he rolls his eyes. ‘that bloke on the first floor isn’t it? ken something or other? people mix me up with him more times than i’d like to mention,’ he continues, but offers a kind smile and hands over the wallet. ‘you walk entirely too quickly by the way. either you’re a track star or i’m older physically than i thought.’

''that’s what everyone says.’’ he smiles at the memory of how he met kenzo quickly before giving the other man a smile.‘’ kenzo! yes, it’s him! well you two definitely look alike but you don’t smell like him at all. not that you smell bad, though!’’ he takes the wallet, bowing a little before putting it in his pocket. ‘’ i try to walk quickly, so it looks like i’m busy. you are definitely not old, you look amazing!’’

“You’re only allowed on special occasions?” Penny repeated, confused by what he was saying. She looked over one shoulder, then the other, and said, “Forgive me, but I only see us two in here. Is your mom hiding under the couch or something? Did she bug the whole building with cameras so she could keep an eye on you?” The sarcasm was practically oozing out of her, but it’s not like she could help it. What this young man was telling her was purely ridiculous, in her humble opinion. “Sounds like your mom is the type to pick out your outfits every morning and cuts the crusts off your sandwiches. Even when you’re thirty-five and married.”

''yeah like when i have to attend family meetings. i’m allowed to drink with my mom or sometimes by myself if it’s important like i don’t know, valentine’s day?’’  jay knows most people, no, everyone finds it ridiculous when he explains the real reason why he doesn’t drink. but he made a promise to his mother that he would never drink alcohol without her permission. ‘’ no, of course not! but i did! i mean i did bug my whole apartment, just in case. i would bug the whole building if they let me...’’ 16 years old jay would be embarrassed but the present jay is kind of proud of himself for listening to his mother.‘’ i wish she could pick my outfit every morning but she’s far away from me. she has a good sense of fashion so i wouldn’t mind. is that bad?’’

“hey, i’ve been holding it all day okay? sue me. actually sue my job,” she said, opening the bathroom door. “yeah but like… if i also didn’t tell you, you’d still be upset that you didn’t know. her funeral is friday. you wanna go?”

god, adan was out of shape; with every flat-footed step he took running toward the man who’d just left the cafe, he felt himself more and more out of breath than before. whether it had been the cold winter weather attacking his lungs, just being out of practice in sprinting or a little of both, he needed to make sure he caught up to him. ‘oy,’ he called out, finally relenting in his pursuit, hands grabbing his knees harshly as he began to catch his breath. ‘you left your wallet at the counter. far be it from me to tell you where to put your money but I figured on your own person was best.’

It isn’t Jay’s intent to make Hunny feel guilty, but nonetheless with the way his brain works, he feels a spike of it inside of him mixed with a very distinct anxiety when he says what he does. Is he not doing enough for the people he cares about? Is he being selfish? Should he stop talking? He doesn’t know, but he certainly doesn’t feel good about anything right now. “Oh.” He breathes it out, pausing for thought, but only briefly. “I guess I’m hidden behind clouds?” He tries that on, attempting to lighten the mood just a bit, but he’s pretty sure it falls short of playful. His tone doesn’t carry it well enough. “I think I’m just a bit homesick. It’s not um — really that big of a deal, but I feel…more at home. With you.” Which is why he’d shown up here. He hadn’t meant to make Jay feel bad, or be a burden.

“uh no, i think i can pee on my own, been doing it since yanno… in utero,” she said. “oh hey, remember pastor margie from faith temple? the bartlett family’s leading lady?” she asked. “she passed away a few days ago.”
