How do you feel about the ship of beat x rest?

They're definitely a cute concept and I've seen some great art of them but the age gap between them is just a little bit too big for my personal liking

according to the wiki beat is 21 and rest is 29 (by the end of the story I think)

Which shocked me i thought the gap was bigger

I'm pretty sure that Rest age is outdated, I think that age was only confirmed in the old reference art which also listed Treble and Clef as 15, Quaver as 11 and Beat as 19 and we know those 4 aren't correct anymore so it'd make sense if Rest has been aged up since

Also if Rest is 29 that would've made her 17 when Quaver was born which ig is possible I just don't really see that being true

so hear me out for a sec, we both know she's likely a raging narcissist BUT im lead to believe that she would have a soft spot for little kids (probably kids some younger then Quaver, but you get the point, kids)

I can see that!! She's absolutely a raging narcissist like you said but yeah I can see that!

I know you send younger than Quaver but it could also be possible that her saying "You're smart right?" (Sorry if that's not the exact quote) To Quaver was meant in a genuine way and that she was trying to be friendly to her and just worded it badly which is a fun idea

I want unbeatable dlc so bad but I can't since I'm getting risk of rain 2 dlc

I'm so happy that they are bringing out more things for this game both in terms of actual game content and also merch but the problem I have is that it's all too good and that I want to buy it all, The physical versions of UNBEATABLE that are releasing I want because the poster designs look so cool, the new shirts look incredible and I'd love them especially the Beat one, the dlc is fantastic but I do not have the money for all this

Wheb I first played unbeatable I got softlocked 3 times and almost never played it again

But I did and I'm very happy that I did

On my first playthrough I had a completely blank screen with no sound as soon as I started Episode 6 so I missed that entire cutscene but the game was still playable and then at the very end of the game the final credits just did not work for me and right as they were supposed to start I just got locked to a black screen, until an update happened that fixed all that which let me actually see those final credits

But now I'm slightly curious as to what your three softlocks were

the first one happend when your supposed to go through the open checkpoint and to the bikes, I went backwards cause I didn't notice and couldn't go back to the checkpoint

The second one happend when eve was going to the stage and the screen went white and never progressed

The third happend when yhe cutscene that triggers the conversation between quaver and beat to talk about sneaking past the checkpoint never triggered

I do have to admit this game does have quite a few softlocks, personally I think it's gotten way better with each update but I keep finding out about new ones people have been through

I may be biased but I still think the game is worth sticking with atleast until you finish the story

Though now the main bug I'm facing is not unlocking anything in arcade mode despite doing the story mode twice

Oh yeah sorry I kinda worded that badly, I know you have I just meant everyone in general cause I know a lot of people did end up dropping the game

My arcade mode just randomly wipes itself and empties out all my completed challenges sometimes which sucks

Today marks 5 months since I finished UNBEATABLE and I have still thought about it basically every single day

This game has such a hold over me and I don't want that to stop, I love this game so much and I'm happy about that, I've made so many posts going into the parts of this game that I love so I won't just repeat it all again but I do think that this game is basically perfect and I do hold a lot of love for it

I haven't seen anyone talking about this but every time I play Bookend Song's Arcade chart I notice this and I love it, the first time Quaver sings "And I can't get rid of you" instead of hitting silence in time with the music you are instead jumping over and under dodge notes

Quaver is actively avoiding her emotions and they show that through simply through gameplay it's incredible

One small line from UNBEATABLE that I think is really interesting given the context of the game is something Quaver says to Beat near the beginning of the game just after you leave Rest's house that line being:

There's nothing groundbreaking with this it's just Quaver convincing Beat to come with her but when you step back and look at this line with the knowledge of everything that happens in the entire story it's very interesting, Quaver and Beat's character arcs are so deeply tied to eachother they absolutely need eachother in order for them to get over everything they've been through, them helping the other causes them to help themselves

There's a bunch of little lines that if you spend time thinking about once you go back and replay the game you'll find some deeper meaning to, Clef calling Beat "nothing" is one I've seen lots of people point out, it's just this one specifically has stuck out to me for awhile now so I wanted to make this post

favorite UNBEATABLE quote?

Oooh this is a really good question!! Thank you so so much for asking!! I'm a big fan of Beat's "The shit I do is the shit I am" it's a very just real and hard hitting quote for me that I never thought anything of on my first run but on my second run I loved it, haven't heard anyone else talking about this one but for some reason this one sticks with me

But also this game has so many good quotes all throughout and as much as I love that one another one that stands out to me is Treble's talk about "painting with the dirt" in reference to the band's music in Episode 4 it's a very important message, making sure your work has you inside it is so important and it's written very well

And also I absolutely cannot leave out the "I am 7 years different, 7 years better" quote from Beat, I would say this is probably the most iconic quote from the game and rightfully so!!! The scene it came from is so so good and important to Beat's character but even taking it away from it's original context it just works so well on its own too!

I'm curious as to what your favorite/favorites are now though!!

personally i really love how trans-coded the lyrics of "WAITING" are, in particular:

"all the compliments i get from you make me feel worse than when you try to push me closer to the edge"

like, damn if that isn't exactly what it's like having transphobic family, especially transphobic parents...

i also really love "when you explain an idea, the idea fundamentally changes", but mostly because it sounds cool lol. tbh i don't think i fully unstand it but it's fun to say

I like to thing in that in the silence apoco au apoco would be somewhat inspired by beat(she would never admit it though) and end making her in game theme

So funny that a game glitch caused an au that's also made Apoco a more interesting character
