I do really like the tragedy behind Twigpaw and Violetpaw that they seem to be embracing though. Neither of them asked to be separated, and yet the clans have driven them against each other. They’ve given these two the idea that they’re only worth sheltering if they’re capable and special (Violetpaw is mentioned to refuse to eat until anyone else has because she thinks she doesn’t deserve to!! Twigpaw pushes herself and loathes herself because she’s convinced she’ll be thrown out if she can’t prove she’s special!) and that’s put them both in impossible situations. They can’t reach out to one another without breaking any rules, and when they can, it’s short lived, and soon Violetpaw is rejecting her sister and regarding her as “just a Thunderclan cat” because of what both ShadowClan and The Kin have instilled in her. They’re both horribly lonely and the only one who can understand is so far away and being trained to hate them

*shaking the bars of my cage* I dont caaaaaaare if tigerclaw is related to spottedleaf because one novella 8 years ago mentioned that someone was someone else's sibling. i don't care about stuff that was hashtag confirmed on twitter i don't care that graystripes parents were retconned to be siblings and then retconned out of it again. i don't care that ashfur might technically be related to squilf thru brindleface's adoption of cloudtail. it doesn't Matter. erin's carelessly and thoughtlessly retcon whatever they want without thinking about what it implies. they create tons of throwaway characters and then randomly decide to pair them off with other throwaways without considering it. you don't have to think about characters who are technically related 4 or 5 generations back when shipping stuff. just because graystripe said mistystar and stonefur were his kids in canon text doesn't mean they are when we know it was a careless mistake made by authors who don't research their own work. you are allowed to use a little nuance when thinking about warrior cats. the average 11 year old reader who's read only TPB and played the roblox game isn't going to know all these deep lore things when they think two characters interacting is cute. can we please just go "ok well that's stupid" and move OOOON about relationships that dont matter
