Queenie held both her hands up in a mock surrender, “ You caught me. It’s from the party stash. I’m ashamed. Cross my heart. ”

“I’m deeply wounded.”

   “You’re the best!  I will totally send any idiot complainers your way, thought I doubt there will be any.”

“I like your outlook on life. Any one I know here?”

Queenie grabbed an entire bottle of some expensive looking whiskey from the overflowing bar as she passed, patting herself down with a look of irritation when she couldn’t find her lighter. She tapped the nearest person on the shoulder, tucking a smoke between her lips, “ Got a light? ”

“Only if that’s my shit you’re smoking.”

   “Okay so, um, all the booze is to the left and the drugs are to the right and if we start to run out of anything, let me know and I’ll put in a call!”

   “Thanks again for coming.  Means a lot.”

“Should be good on the green.”

“It does.”

“Can we go already? I ain’t got all day.”

“Right.”

Jax pocketed his hands, gait relaxed as they walked down the street, some store fronts were boarded up, but most of them still had their doors open, neon signs lit up to give some idea of what was inside. The one Jax stopped in front of was unmarked, just a building with a rusting metal door that used to be green if the leftover chipped paint at the bottom right corner had anything to say about it. The door eased open and they came face to face with a reed-thin man, one eye scarred closed with no brow hair above it. He had thin blonde hair and the eye that was open and fully intact was a sharp blue and it cut around Jax and Remi like a knife, looking for anyone suspicious.

“Sonny.” Jax extended a hand, polite in all his dealings, and Sonny took it firmly, eye finally looking at him as he shook Jax’s hand once before dropping it rather quickly. 

“Your friend?” Sonny had never been the talkative type and Jax gave a nod in reply. “He talk any?” 

Bambi: doesn't matter who it was. i told him it was u, that's the point

Bambi: tho it might be if u want 2 get ur dick sucked

Jax: Who is he?

“ Not what I meant. But cute. Especially the bit about a simple dream. In this world? Good fuckin’ luck, dude. ”

“Don’t need luck, just a brain.” Jax rubbed a palm against his chin. “But not brain. What’s with the sudden interest in my love life?”

   “I know.”

   “Listen. I’m really bad at flirting, but I want you. And it doesn’t seem like it’s registering, so I’m telling you flat out before I get too drunk and try to suck your dick in an alley.”

“Too drunk? You’ve had, like, one vodka soda.”

“Yeah? How ‘bout Saturday? Next week?”

“So it does have a sense of humor.”

“ Liking vodka sodas make up your definition of cute? Or you just throwing little random facts at me. ”

“ Nah, thanks though. If we meet, we meet. I prefer more… spontaneity. Plus, maybe he’s more your fancy. ”

“Random facts. My fancy? I am just a man with a simple dream here, Queenie. Nothing fancy.”
