DP x DC Prompt

Danny has been ruling the Infinite Realms for centuries now. And he's incredibly bored. He's gone to Clockwork to see if anything needs to be done or finding something to do. All he was told was to "embrace the next thing you hear" from the Ancient of Time.

On his way back to his Keep, he overhears a conversation between some ghosts from a world, or more like arguing between themselves. He hears them arguing on which of them had the better blessings from their Godly patrons.

Quickly realizing that this is his next form of entertainment, he quickly returns to his Keep and to do what those gods have done to those Ghosts when they were living.

He chooses a random world, one that has a hero group known as the Justice League, and grants some random people without powers some of his power.

The Justice League has encountered a problem in their world. People who don't have the Meta Gene suddenly gaining powers out of nowhere. Some of them are even on the Justice League's roster and some of their Villains also gaining powers.

John : so please do not talk me me handle that “does the summoning” greetings your majesty thank you for responding to the summoning

Danny : no problem hellblazer is there something I can help you with ?

John : yes your majesty I’ve seen that you have blessed mortals in this realm hero’s and villains

Danny : ah yes I did do that

John : we just wanted to know why ?

Danny : oh after rulling for like 3 millennia I was getting bored so I went to ask my friend clockwork the embodiment of time what is there to do and he simply said embrace the next thing you ear so I did I hears ghost talk about the blessing they had from there patron so I picked random people in the hero team and the villain team and blessed each with my power

Superman : you just blessed people because you were bored that’s an irresponsable thing to do for a god

Danny : and who are you to tell me a high god what I can and can’t do ?

Superman : im superman and now that you’ve blessed them they are harder to beat and put away that’s just annoying

John horror dawning on this face uses magic to make him shut up : im very sorry your majesty it seems we need review how we talk to gods and beings who can destroy the whole universe “giving the side eye to superman

Danny : it’s fine now I see why he said to embrace the first thing I hear anyway I blessed them so each power a villain has there is a counter on the hero side so figure out which power counters the other and you’ll win anyway got to go but I’ll be back I want to see for myself how my blessed are doing byeeeeee “vanishes”

John : I am never working with superman ever again I don’t care what yall think put me with superman and won’t do shit he almost doomed the entire universe thinking he can tell gods what to do is he dumb

Batman : what is a high god ?

Danny’s friend is Tucker—a tech geek—who’s to say he won’t hook his friend up with a phone line for Intergalactic Kingly (technically Princely, but King sounds better) Duties? In fact, why wait for the Justice League to call him? It’s not like they know the Realms have got a new system yet, and Danny ought to give them some free help the first few times, just to clear a bit of the old bad air between them.

Let’s say a few of the members have got them selves in a bind with a certain ancient artifact that’s cursed with ectoplasm. All it takes is one confused question—

“Wait, the things cursed with whatsit now?” Captain Marvel asked, leaning close to try and get a better look.

Zatanna held up a hand, warning him away. “Ectoplasm. Don’t get close, we’re certain it’s got similarities to Lazarus water, but we don’t fully understand it.”

He frowned, holding the artifact farther away from himself. “That doesn’t bode well for me.”

Zatanna sighed. “Let me call John over, I think we need to summon—“

And with that, the requirement of “Ectoplasm” and “Summon” being spoken was fulfilled, and the landline phone rang.

Naturally, they were a bit confused at first, as they distinctly remembered not having a landline phone on their station in the middle of space. However, never fear, because all it takes is a healthy bit of communication and customer service.

“Hi! You wanted to summon something to deal with ectoplasm?” A cheery voice said when Zatanna picked up the phone.

“Ye—“

“Fantastic! I’ll be there in a jiffy,” the voice said. They seemed almost at a desperate level of enthusiasm, as if they were relieved someone needed them.

Captain Marvel glanced between the ancient sword his hands were glued to and the phone. “Did they say they were coming here?”

“I did!” A voice announced, surprising both of them. They both immediately took defensive positions, fully launching attacks at Danny—

“And just like that, I was there to help! See?” Danny said jovially, swiping away a stray bit of blood from when the two had attacked him. “Easy and fast, without the hassle of a ritual!” Danny finished his pitch just in time for the sword to let out an ominous roar as it unstuck itself from Captain Marvel’s hands.

“You’ve made this worse!” Zatanna accused, lunging for the sword.

“Wait! I’m not done!” Danny cried, waving his hands for her to not approach.

The sword immediately locked onto her, glowing green and launching itself toward her. Danny just managed to grab onto it and turn them both intangible, passing right through the magician.

He glared at the sword. “You’re not making me look good right now,” he whispered. The sword shook in his hands agitatedly, swaying its point toward Zatanna. “No,” Danny scolded. “Bad dog. Go back to the Zone, now.”

The sassy sword whacked him in the forehead. Danny stuck his tongue out at it. The sword glowed a bright, iridescent green before disappearing completely.

He sagged. “Oh thank the Ancients.”

Dusting off his hands, he turned back to the other two and smiled. “So? Five stars? Four stars? I’ll take a three-point-five…”

With no response, Danny’s face drooped, black eyebrows furrowing. “Shit…that bad?”

Captain Marvel shared a glance with Zatanna and scratched his neck sheepishly. “We…probably won’t be needing your help again, dude. We’ll just get the Ghost King. Um, thanks though…”

The lady looked even less friendly. Her expression read: “we don’t know you, don’t show up uninvited.”

Danny sighed, opened a portal, and—after sparing them one final, sorrowful glance because he couldn’t help it—stepped back into the Ghost Zone.

The familiar sight of Long Now greeted him. Clockwork was there to meet him, offering him a cup of tea.

“While I am not experienced in such endeavors, I have heard many humans also experience a rough first day on the job,” he said.

Danny groaned, shedding his human form. “You know what? Screw this ‘revamp the summoning’ thing. Next time, I’ll just let them summon me, thinking they’ll get Pariah.”

Danny : you summoned me

Zatanna : no we summoned the ghost king not you

Danny : no you did summon me I’m the ghost king except if you wanted a maniac hellbent on destroying the mortal world then you should have summoned the ghost king before I beat his ass

Zatanna : what? “horror drawing on her face”

Danny : yup last time you summoned me i was still the ghost king and you and that kid over there “points at captain marvel” were very rude don’t even know why I accepted the summoning

John : sorry your majesty if they were rude I’m sure they didn’t know who you were

Danny : maybe they didn’t know but i still helped them and they didn’t even thank me properly if one of them tires to summon me again cus they need me again they can try someone else because they are rude self-centred assholes

John : yes your majesty if we need you I’ll do the summoning

Danny : and Solomon next time teach your champion proper manners or I’m putting you to rest and there will be no more captain marvel anyways they pissed me off so whatever you summoned me for deal with it yourselves “vanishes”

Captain marvel : so the being who helped us last time was the ghost king and we were so rude he doesn’t want to help us ever again

Zatanna : if I knew that he was the ghost king i wouldn’t have been so rude to him

A Danny/Bruce/Talia idea again.

Like my Bittersweet and Sweetheart Exes prompt I wrote out a while ago.

But lets add in core/babies Dan and Ellie... Is this mpreg? eh I guess?

So hear me out.

Danny is an adult in this BTW. (Maybe a few years younger than Bruce?)

Danny is in Gotham? (maybe a different place?) and he's with a redeemed Vlad (whose acting like a second father figure for Danny, OR maybe he is because he's now dating Maddie and Jack? Good Fenton parents? IDK) for some Gala event since Danny is his godson. Danny's been stressed out lately and everyone thought it would be best if he got out of Amity for a while, clear his head. He's only at the event because Vlad promised to buy out the neighboring space museum the next day if he went with Vlad for the night.

Anyways Danny is at this event because of normalish reasons.

Bruce/Batman and Talia are there for their own reasons, it just so happened that they were both at this event (Talia for a mission? Bruce for his own? Maybe it connects later?) Of course Talia flirts with her Beloved when she has chances and Bruce slowly caves to her because he still holds feelings for the woman.

During their interactions they stumble across Danny, maybe they run into him outside in the garden grounds? They went outside to talk about their 'missions' while Danny just wanted some air, Danny apologizes for interrupting them and goes to leave but Bruce decides its best to have a witness in case they need alibis later starts being Brucie (Talia rolls her eyes amused at the idiot mask) and says Danny doesn't have to go.

The three actually, somehow hit it off. Even Talia is a bit more charmed with Danny than she thought she would be. (Maybe because he didn't bat an eye when she mentioned she could fight, she's used to men thinking because she's beautiful/a woman she is a 'delicate flower', Danny knows she's deadly, can sense it, says so as much when she asks eventually and mentions how he grew up with a badass mother and his big sister could beat him into the ground in hand to hand, bad with guns though. He even says he has two female friends who could kick his butt as well, one scrappy (Sam, I headcanon Sam would be a scrappy fighter) while the other has training (Val))

AND because this mission they both were on is more for recon until later, the three are flirting for a while, drink a bit, and eventually find themselves in bed in someone's hotel room that night.

When Danny wakes up the next morning, he is alone, with a note from them (Bruce wrote it, Talia only signed it because Bruce convinced her to be polite at least) The room has been paid by one of them for the day, along with any food he could order for the day.

Meanwhile Batman and LOA Talia are dealing with each other/missions.

But here's the thing. A few months go by and Danny is now trying to figure out how to contact them both, Bruce is easy to find but he'll have to explain to him a few things to the himbo (who might not be as much as a himbo he thought he was? 'Brucie' seemed smarter by the end of the night before they fell into bed together), while Talia seemed like a ghost (Ha! He's still funny) and next to impossible to find (though Bruce might know where she is? They seemed very close, like they knew each other before hand)

The reason?

It turns out the two Danny fell in bed with MIGHT have been a bit more liminal than he first thought (Talia more than Bruce but both are very death touched) and the two cores of his once clones (Ellie and Dan) he had been storing inside himself might had decided that the two were liminal enough to use their DNA's/pieces of their spirit/souls and now Danny has two tiny cores incubating inside of himself and he really doesn't wanna be that person that hides this from the person(s) they had a one night stand with.

So yeah... Now Danny is making his way to Gotham to talk to Bruce (and maybe Talia is Bruce has her number?) about the whole half ghost thing, the cores inside of him, and the future kids they are having....

Danny : hey Bruce so I’m pregnant

Bruce : how ?

Danny : so a bit of a back story when I was 14 I died halfway so I became a halfa half alive half dead and it changed my biology

Bruce : okay I have a feeling this isn’t the end of the story

Danny : no anyway when we hooked up I was hosting the cores of two of my clones who destabilised so they wouldn’t die but what my doctor forgot to say was if I hook up with people who are death touched enough the cores would absorb the dna of said persons so congrats your a father and Talia is a mother oh yea could you call Talia

Bruce : so your half dead hosting the cores of your clones and me and Talia are the dna push they needed to grow

Danny : yea so they have my dna yours and talias

Bruce : and when are you due ?

Danny : any moment since the have my powers they literally could phase out of my belly anytime

Bruce : wait you have powers?

Danny : came with the half dying thing and since they were my clones they have powers too

Bruce : and do you know the gender of the babies ?

Danny : oh yea boy and girl

Bruce : okay alfred could you come here please

Alfred : yes master Bruce

Bruce : could you prepare a guest room for Danny please he will stay here for a while

Alfred : yes master Bruce

Danny : oh that’s nice of you I would have just gone to a hotel but thanks

2 weeks later

Danny walking in Bruce’s study to babies in hand

Danny : so they came out that’s Ellie and that’s Dan

Bruce : oh you literally meant they could come out anytime

Danny : yea so wanna hold them

Danny, during one of his vacations in a mortal world, had adopted a young boy named Alfred while he was living his life.

Danny had briefly been the butler to the Wayne family before Bruce was born. When Danny had to leave back to the Infinite Realms because of his Ghost King duties needed to be resumed soon. He had asked his son to become the next Butler for the Wayne family.

The reason for Alfred's "all-knowing" is because it's his liminal power he got by being near his dad, the Ghost King, for as long as he was a kid and teenager until he became a member of the British Guard.

Danny, and on occasion, Dani and Jazz, visit Alfred over the years, but their Infinite Realms lives keep them from staying for too long. They also seem to be visiting on days when Alfred is either alone in the Manor or is on a day off that takes him out of the Manor.

One day, during a rare quiet week in Gotham, the Wayne family gets a letter addressed to Alfred. None of them dared to try and read it, as they all didn't want to face the disappointed butler for a month after all of them failed to do security checks on the mail addressed to Alfred.

About half an hour later, Alfred is looking really happy as he makes food and such, like he always does whenever there's going to be one or more visitors. They all checked with each other, seeing if Kon, Bart, Bernard, Wally, Clark, or Jon is coming over. When Alfred was finally asked why he's preparing to welcome a visitor, he tells them.

Bruce : Alfred what do you mean your dad is coming to visit you?

Alfred : it is what it is mean master Bruce my father is coming here to visit me

Bruce : but how is that possible I don’t mean to offend you Alfred but your quite old

Alfred : how old do you think I am master Bruce ?

Bruce : I don’t know 75?

Alfred : master Bruce i am far older than that

Dick : wait your older than 75 Alfred

Alfred : yes master richard

Jason : so how old is your dad Alfred

Alfred : if I Remember correctly more than 7 centuries master Jason

Tim : wait your dad is more than 700 years old?

Alfred : yes maybe more master Tim

The doorbell rings

Alfred : ah he’s here

Alfred goes to open the door and the batfam sees a young man no older than 21 at the door squealing

Danny : my little alfi how good it is to see you

Alfred : you too dad *hugs Danny *

Danny : this must be the family you’ve been taking care of

Alfred : yes dad, master Bruce don’t stare that’s rude

Bruce : sorry Alfred, hello I’m Bruce nice to meet you

Danny: nice to meet you too I’m Danny, so alfi what can I do in this city without unknowingly breaking several laws

Alfred : well dad you could just walk around until something gets your attention

Danny : alfi you know that I’m a walking problem magnet if I walk just walk around I might just walk on people getting killed and you know that your grandfather is probably waiting for an opportunity to laugh at my misery

Alfred : clockwork is probably already laughing at this point

Danny : you’re right that cryptic bastard is laughing I can hear it from here and he is not in the mortal world so yea

Suddenly he turns his towards Jason and stares

Danny : alfi explain that “ points at jason”

Alfred : ah master Jason yes he died came back

All the batfam baffled that Alfred just straight up said that

Danny : oh that explains why he feels so weird you know that the green goop that’s inside of him is like the equivalent of a lung infection but like worse

Jason : wait the fuck you mean lung infection? Green goop?

Danny : yea like you got a lot of fucked up green goop inside you that’s making you sick you never noticed ? Like headaches uncontrollable rage a want for revenge against your killer ?

Jason : are you talking about pit madness ?

Danny : pit what now ? You’re telling me there’s pits of the green goop that’s inside of you ?

Jason : yea Lazarus pits

Danny : yall even have a name for them that’s fucked up i should have come visit sooner damn and here I thought I finally I got a vacation from ruling an entire dimension but no. Clockwork I’m blaming you for that one

Suddenly a green sticky note appears in Danny’s hands

Danny : alfi next time you see your grandpa tell him that he’s a bastard “vanishes”

Alfred : well that went better than expected

Jason : Alfred first why did your dad vanish second did he just tell me that the pit madness is the equivalent of a lung infection and third did he really say that he rules over an entire dimension

Alfred : I suppose he went to deal with the pits all over the world since they come from his realm, yes he did refer to your pit madness as a lung infection and last yes he did say that he rules over an entire dimension

Bruce : so you’re a prince

Alfred : yes master I am the fourth prince of the infinite realms

“Danny reappears”

Danny : okay alfi I’m done with that nonsense met a really weird guy who thought he was immortal he was funny so imma need to take the green goop out of you mister

Jason : so you went to the league of assassins took the pit there and made fun of ra’s Alfred make your dad never leave. Wait you can take the pit madness away ?

Danny : I mean if u didn’t regularly bath in the stuff like that funny guy that yea I can I mean it has to obey me since the dimension I rule over is made of cleaner version of the stuff

Jason : not gonna deal with that when can you do it ?

Danny : like right now if you want to

Jason : sure

Danny proceeds to plunge his hand is Jason’s chest and takes out the Lazarus water and eats it

Danny : “burps” damn it got this citrusy taste alfi do you still know how to make those cookies clocky made like 200 years ago

Alfred : yes dad I knew you would want some I made some before you came

Jason : did you just eat the Lazarus water that was in me

Danny : yes my dear favourite great grandson I in fact did now cookie time come on alfi I still need to update you on the gossip of the court

“Alfred and Danny leaves”

Time is also Clockwork. When Danny fully comes into his powers Night became threatened by her partners new child and tries to destroy them. So Time yanks the little baby Ghost King (He has not even two decades old Night! Has barley come into existence. How could you attack the baby?) and dumps him right in the middle of the table his seven other children were having their once a century dinner. They can look after their new sibling while Time takes care of Night.

They Endless were having another tense dinner when suddenly a boy with blue eyes and hair as messy as Dreams appears in the center of the dinner table with a familiar green sticky note tight in the center of his forehead.

Destiny : so he has arrived

Danny : sup guys mind telling where the hell i am?

Dream : destiny have you called us for this?

Death : awww he half dead wait he half dead??

Danny : yup

Desire : so destiny mind telling us who he is ?

Destiny takes the green sticky note : to all my children meet your new adopted sibling

All of them : excuse me??

Danny : the fuck you mean I’m your sibling

Delirium : ohhh he is feisty

Destiny opens his book : he is Daniel phantom adopted son of time hated of night and he is balance

Death : so dad adopts a kid mom hates him and he is balance how?

Destiny: he died halfway he is dead and alive and he was ment to be balance since the beginning of time but since he needed to die halfway he was born mortal

Danny : so can y’all tell me who you are since you know who I am

Destiny: I am destiny

Dream : I am dream

Destruction: and I am destruction

Danny : so yall are the people he kept telling me about nice to me yall can I leave now ?

Another green sticky note appears in front of Danny

Danny takes the note and read it and screams : OFCOURS YOU WOULD SAY THAT YOU STUPID GEARFACE TAKE ME BACK TO MY REALM SO I CAN FINISH THE GODDAMN PAPERWORK I HAVE LEFT OR I SWEAR IM ANNOYING YOU FOR THE REST OF EXISTENCE

All the endless kinda shocked that he would scream at there father

Danny : since clocky put me here with yall wanna help me to think about what I can do to annoy him

Another sicky note appears

Danny read it and laugh and lifts his head towards sky : no way clocky you deserve everything that is about to happen

Dream : what did the notes say ?

Danny : that i should stay here and since he knows how much I like to annoy him I am leaving bye yall

Danny casually ripping a portal to the infinite realms : and if yall wanna talk your welcome in my realm anytime

The green neon portal closes and he gets dropped on the table again

Danny : really clocky you won’t let me leave. In the mortal realm this is called kidnapping you fucking ass, so since I can’t leave what’s up

Danny : hey destiny since everything is in your book mind telling me when I can leave ?

Destiny : no can do I’m afraid he will come here once you can leave

Danny : really ? Ugh “ Danny looks around and suddenly say “ : you “ pointing at desire “ look gay and that outfit eats btw, you “ points at dream” look emo and need an haircut, you “ points at death” nothing to say your gorgeous, you “points at destruction “ look like you know how to be fun, you “points at despair” nothing to say either you dress is marvellous, you “ points at delirium “ look like you know how to party and you “ points at destiny” look like you have a stick up your ass so I shall rank yall

Drop of a name.

Danny has existed for... a while.

His World stopped existing some time ago, as expected with every material thing.

Adjusting at the start was difficult. He tried to end his immortality several times, but after so long, his mind started to shift.

Humans live their lives with the concept of death as inevitable, the happiness in the moments, the growth you experience during the years.

That's how he was taught to think, it was normal.

But immortals don't think like that.

They think bigger.

Languages transform and disappear, and so do countries, planets, cultures, species, elements, resources, solar systems.... and the forms of the Ancients, as concepts change meanings.

Immortals born like that don't get so affectionate about the material world, but they love it in their own way.

This is how Phantom, The Ancient of Space and Ghost King, found himself fond of a world that developing quickly and seemed to attract a lot of trouble.

When a God drops his name in a world, they are making themselves known to it, giving people knowledge of their existence and will.

He watched as they developed, very similar to his original planet and he felt when his name was found.

He certainly didn't expect them to try to summon him.

The whole of the Justice League was ready for the battle of the century. An evil God was being summoned and they were Earth's last defense.

When the sky turned pitch black, suddenly, the universe was in front of them.

Constantine : so when we summon him you all shut your mouths I do the talking so you all don’t doom us all

“Does the summoning”

Danny: so why have you summoned me mortals?

Constantine trying not to offend Danny : we uhh summoned you because you are depicted as an evil god in several books and we don’t want you to destroy the planet

Danny: and you thought let’s summon him so we can talk?

Batman: yes so we can stop you if you ever try to destroy the planet

Danny : you mortals think you can stop me the embodiment of space from destroying what’s mine?

Constantine: sorry mate what did you say you are ?

Danny : okay time for introduction I suppose i am Danny phantom ancient of space and ghost king now who are you?

Constantine become pale: s-sorry your majesty I didn’t know it was you we summoned.

Danny: oh so you do know me little magician anyway I’m gonna go next time you summon me have the proper etiquette please. “vanishes”

Constantine dropping to the floor: bloody hell i need a drink!

Batman: Constantine who was that ?

Constantine: you shut up what you did could have cost us our lives you bloody moron didn’t I tell you all to shut up and not talk or we would be doomed thankfully the others listened but bats you always need to talk. next time you ask me to summon something or someone and I tell you to shut up you shut up!

Wonder Woman: is what he said true?

Constantine: what that he the embodiment of space and the ghost king ? Yes very true everything in space is his every planet every star every black hole is his earth also his.

Wonder Woman: and what does him being the ghost king mean?

Constantine: so basically every afterlife in the universe is valid think hell heaven underworld Valhalla every single afterlife is under his control he rules over the infinite realm and the infinite realm contains every afterlife every realm even if it’s not a death realm he rules over it every god he rules over them the Greeks the Norse the Christian god every god in the multiverse answer to him he doesn’t control them but they respect him because if he wants he can make them not exist anymore and when I say not exist I mean never existed so yeah now I’m gonna go Drink 20 years worth of alcohol so don’t call me “ opens a portal and vanishes”

All the jl in the meeting room wide eyes cue the just realised what Constantine meant

The Justice League summons the ghost king. Danny was in the middle of an emergency that only he could stop.

He screams and cries and begs them to send him back, tells them it's life or death, tells them they can summon him again in 24 hours just PLEASE send him back NOW everybody was going to die

They argue and deliberate for almost ten minutes before they send him back.

They summon him again the next day. He's different.

They try to talk to him but he just hangs there numbly, floating and staring at nothing.

Nightwing can't take it anymore. Maybe the ghost king is an eldritch god, but to him he just looks like a traumatised child.

Without hesitation, he steps into the circle (Constantine told them all to stay back from it the first time he summoned Phantom but what's the worst that could happen?)

Everybody protests but Constantine keeps them back, tells them more people in the summoning circle will only make things more dangerous.

So, Nightwing does his thing. He hesitantly approaches the loose ball of glowing limbs that is Phantom, talking gently as he goes.

He asks Phantom if he can touch him, and still gets no response. Just dull, dead eyes looking past him.

Cautiously, he lays a hand on the ghost-boy's shoulder. No response.

He pulls him into his side, wrapping an arm around his shoulders and talking softly.

All at once, the king crumbles. He turns into the one-armed hug, fisting a hand tightly into Nightwing's costume. He buries his face in the hero's shoulder and begins to sob. Terrible, wretched noises of agony.

Nightwing makes soothing noises to the child in his arms as he turns to meet eyes with the rest of the Justice League.

They summoned him in the middle of an emergency and instead of sending him back immediately they kept him there. Kidnapped him.
