This. It was said that only thrones, dominions or above can access the files about Gabriel. Crowley is obviously one of those. I believe he’s a dominion since they are said to be rulers of the cosmos.

Biblically accurate angels come in three ranks or three “spheres”. Here is a very watered down explanation of it

The first sphere are Godly Servants, angels that exist only in heaven and carry messages to god. Angels in that category are seraphim, cheribum and thrones

Second sphere is where Crowley would be. They are (or in this case he was) the Heavenly Rulers, angels that only exist in heaven but actions can affect people on earth. Those angels are dominions, the virtues, and the powers

Third sphere are the Earthly Messengers, angels that directly interact with humans and are on earth. This is where Aziraphale was since these angels are either principalities, archangels or common angels.

Crowley was a higher ranked angel than Aziraphale, and now Aziraphale will be one of the most powerful angels ever

Angels in the Bible aren’t technically “more powerful” than each other though, the ranks are showing that they literally are higher or lower than each other. One’s that are higher are closest to god and are meant more for duties revolved around him, and one’s lower are closer to earth, so they are meant for things revolved around earth. But in good omens there are more powerful ones, which I think makes sense for telling a story

I feel like a lot of people would think archangels would be at least second sphere rank, but I guess not. Angels are still powerful despite the rank, I think it’s more of a respect thing? For example, Archangel Michael is only third sphere, but he was destined to lead gods army into war and defeat satan. Because of that, he is highly respected and considered the leader of all angels in the Bible
