“Ugh.” She shook her head with a laugh. She hesitated when he gave her permission again to ask a question, this time though the pause was to actually think of one. It had to be a good one, but not something that would make him not want to answer anymore. “What’s your best childhood memory?”

“You know what I meant.” She rolled her eyes, nudging. “Like you’re more than just this… famous hot guy.” She paused, pointing at him with a warning look. “And don’t comment on me calling you hot, that’s not the point here.” She dropped her hand, furrowing her brows. “Jared, if you really don’t want to talk about it… you don’t have to. I’m not going to be mad.” She promised. “We don’t have to talk about that.”

“I think it’s interesting.” Laney shrugged, moving to somewhat lay beside him (as best she could in the small bed at least). “Come on. It’ll actually like… humanize you.” She teased, nudging him. “I want to know more about you, about your life before you became a famous model. That’s the stuff I care about.”

She watched him go to the other side of the bed, raising an eyebrow when he grabbed a ball. Okay. She thought about his question, although she knew it was a joke, tilting her head to the side. “Mm. Maybe I do.” She said, honestly leaning back on her hands. “So come on. Give me all the details of your criminal exploits. I want to know everything.”

She rolled her eyes teasingly at his comment, crossing her arms across her chest. “Okay, it’s not like you’ve been inviting me over and I kept saying no. I can’t read your mind, Jared. I don’t know when you want me to come over unless you actually tell me.” She slipped past him into the room, going to sit down on the bed. “I will say that it did help a little bit. I’m intrigued by your criminal past.” She teased, looking over at him.

The boy laughed, turning as she walked in and following behind her, “Lighten up, it was a joke.” He said walking over to the opposite side of the bed and grabbing a ball from the side table as he began to throw it against the wall to keep himself busy, “Why? You have a thing for bad boys or something?” Jared taunted, his eyes glancing over to the girl momentarily with a smirk spread on his lips, before focusing back on the wall in time to catch the ball.

Kenzie: that must be it.

Kenzie: you got me
