The Knight is the literal concept of shadows, every time they have a physical form it's at night, they only appear in a dark world when it would be night time in the light-world. This could explain why they look like Dess, because Dess has been trapped in THE DARK for so long the living concept of darkness has taken on her form. Maybe they're the concept of THE NIGHT, Toby loves his puns after all

We all know Golden Freddy is winning but this is just more how the fight would go. It would start off with Caine in his office jotting down adventure ideas on his notebook, then he pulls it down and sees Golden Freddy. He would immediately be all "A new human has entered... my office somehow". Then he would send them on an adventure with the main cast only for Golden Freddy to make all the NPCS drop dead instantly, and Golden would see how the Circus members are being treated and then teleport Caine back to his office. Except that his office now has two doors and a tablet, then a scene of Caine in a sit and survive situation would play out before he has enough and glitches. While trying to attack Golden Freddy his mind would start to fill with "it's me". He would then wake up in one of his adventures we see in the series, switching and teleporting between them, finishing in a dark room where Caine gets cornered by the Abstracted characters, he would say something similar to what William says in the first Fnaf movie. Then Cassidy would appear and Fill Caine's mind with the same phrase, "it's me" over and over until he starts to glitch and cry out in agony. A bunch of Fnaf 3 style error messages would appear over Caine before he drops to the floor in a Springtrap pose.

Backstory: was built as a novelty machine to show older, obsolete forms of fuel, after an apocalyptic event, they have to find burnable objects to fuel themselves and keep going.
