Around 6 years ago, just after I had left my job at Amar Chitra Katha, I was commissioned to work on the 1900-1970 era of Indian Cinema. The comics was supposed to be launched in 2013 to celebrate the 100 years of Indian Cinema. Unfortunately, the project got shelved because of copyright issues, but I had a good time working on it. The many days of proof-reading and editing with Reena Puri, Sanjana Kapur, Aparna Kapur and Nimmy Chacko at the ACK office were fun too. I worked mainly in monochrome for the illustrations except in places where colour got introduced in the films, and kept the layout slightly classy to reflect the early era of Indian Cinema. The comics was around 40 pages long, but I can only share a few watermarked pages here.
