Starry Eyed Dreamer

Why were his hands shaking? This was probably a very odd interaction for her. He wasn’t in her classes, and he wasn’t sure if he’d ever been able to sit in a classroom and not act like he wasn’t being told all these things from his mom. Although he supposed, he kind of was with his mom in some sense. “It’s It’s nice to meet you,” he says stepping into the office, letting his hands rest at his side. “Uh… so I just started.. well everyone started. Um, I just wanted to introduce myself correctly. In my reality… my name is Nikolai Thorson-Foster.” he paused for a moment, unable to meet her eyes. “I heard that astrophysicist Jane Foster was here and I just kind of well I avoided meeting you but I knew I wanted to. Since you’re my mom’s other reality… and I just needed to see a familiar face. Even if you’re not really her.” 

Jane froze at his introduction, her eyes going wide at the name.  Yes, she knew she should have expected to run into a child of . . . well, not exactly hers, but a child born of one of her counterparts in another universe.  And of Thor’s . . .  So they’d worked out - somewhere.  She pushed that to the side.  Not the point.  “Nikolai?” she repeated, testing out the name.  Her memory pulled up the meaning - victory of the people.  Yes, that sounded right.  “I’m, well, I’m surprised,” she admitted honestly, “but . . . also rather pleased to meet you.” Drawing in a deep breath, she stepped closer. What did you say to the homesick child of yourself from another world?  “I’m glad you came.”
