I am still thinking about Lavellan processing the death of her clan and trying to write a fic for it. I can imagine this being one of many times that Cole tries to help her during the Inquisition. She’d say no, but he would still check in with her.

Been kicking this around ever since I found myself disappointed by a fic that promised the Sinners as knowledgable Digimon fans... only to be disappointed that it was essentially a retelling of season 1.

So I've talked with my girlfriend to kind of think about not which Digimon fit the Sinners, but what a Digimon story would do to benefit the Sinners.

Personally, I believe that making this into a modern AU + de-aging the Sinners might be the closest to a Digimon story, but I think that using the Sinners as adults can still work with their stories. Just having D-Corp realize that Lob Corp data has become physical Golden Boughs they can get to and creating an off-shoot company to grab them before other Fixer Offices or Syndicates can grab them either.

Does anyone else think Emmrich would be an absolute saint to an autistic Rook, especially a romanced one?

In my own lore, he’s been married to my autistic Rook, Atticus, for decades, and he knows every one of his quirks, triggers, and hyperfixations. While I don’t headcanon Emmrich as autistic as well, I do headcanon him with generalized anxiety disorder, so I feel like he still is a part of the neurodivergent experience and would therefore be understanding despite those diagnoses not existing in Thedas. (You may be wondering why I headcanon GAD specifically— his fear of death is the biggest indicator for me; my mom and I both have anxiety and an abnormally intense fear of death is one of our symptoms).

For Atticus specifically, Emmrich is constantly making sure he’s getting a good diet, helping get him to a quiet place when he’s overwhelmed, and helps coax him into bathing when he’s having trouble doing it himself. He also knows that Atticus loves deep pressure when he’s sleeping and they spend most of their nights with Emmrich sprawled on top of Atticus like a weighted blanket. One of the reasons Atticus loves him so much is because neither of them even need to know the word ‘autism’ for Emmrich to be accommodating and loving about it.

In turn, I like to think Atticus is good at comforting Emmrich when he’s feeling especially anxious. Lots of hugs and kisses, distracting him by rambling about necromancy, making him tea, reading him books he loves.
