CONGRATULATIONS HANNAH!
FASHION FORWARD, 3 SIÈCLES DE MODE (1715-2016)
from 7 April to 14 August 2016
The Musée des Arts Décoratifs is celebrating the thirtieth anniversary of its fashion collection from April 7 to August 14, 2016. In doing so we are responding to our public’s strongly expressed desire to at last be shown an all-embracing panorama of fashion history over several centuries. It will also be an unique opportunity to showcase the jewels and highlight the particularities of a national fashion and textiles collection curated in full dialogue with the other departments of a museum dedicated to all the decorative arts. The ‟Fashion Forward, 3 Centuries of Fashion (1715-2016)” exhibition will bring together 300 items of men’s, women’s and children’s fashion from the 18thcentury to today, selected from the museum’s collections to provide a novel chronological overview.
A fascinating piece on the Forbes Pigment Collection, located in the library of Harvard Art Museum.

Nigerian-born fashion designer, writer, afrobeat artist and attorney Walé Oyéjidé and tailor Sam Hubbler are the duo behind the Philadelphia-based menswear brand, Ikiré Jones. Combining West African aesthetics with Neapolitan tailoring, the brand strives to create collections that tell a story. The fashion editorial for its latest collection, After Migration tells the story of African asylum-seekers living in Italy.

Visited the Saul Leiter exhibition at the Photographer’s Gallery yesterday. His colour photographs are beautiful compositions and the recoloured photographs are very interesting.
His work was an important inspiration for Todd Haynes’ film Carol.

This painting by Sir Frederick Leighton would have been a good one to study for the Woven Colour project.
Visit his amazing house in London, in particular the Arab Hall.

They produce simple styles using interesting fabrics, with a strong concept at the centre of each collection.
it is well worth spending some time exploring their website:
