( s4 specific )    peter    ballard    is    not    an    enemy    in    my    canon,   nor    does    he    possess    telekinetic    abilities    or    superpowers   of    any   kind .    he    is   also    not    in    any    way    linked    to    the    upside    down .    this    is   quite    a    significant    divergence ,    but    i   personally    preferred    him    as    an    accomplice    /    friend    to    jane   rather    than    what    he    became .    to    me ,    his    betrayal   felt   predictable   and   useless .       additionally ,    i   felt   that   the   upside   down   plotline   as   a   whole   is    getting   a    little   tired   and   convoluted .   it   seems   like   she’s   in    the    same    position   every   season ,    so    i    tend    to    acknowledge    very    little    in    terms   of    the    shows   portrayal   of    that    dimension   /   its    subsequent    monsters   and   jane’s   involvement   with   them .    my    preference    is    to   explore   the   aftermath    and     consequences    of    their   experiences    in   and   with    the    parallel    universe   ( both    mentally   and    physically ),    as    i   believe    there’s   a   lot    of    untapped   potential ,    but   i    find    certain   elements    interesting   and   others   boring   and    worn    out .

with    that    said ,    no   other   numbered   children   exist   within    my    canon .       i     elaborate    on   this   in   my   google   doc ,   but   re    my    canon  :    terry    was    accepted    into    a   paid    volunteer    program   under    the    guise   of   medical   research    after   applying    through    an    ad    she   found   stapled    to    a   utility    pole   outside    the    diner    in    which    she    worked .    the    ad    specifically    targeted    pregnant    women    ( so    no ,    brenner    is    not    jane’s    biological    father ).    she    was   one    of    several    women    who    were    accepted    into   the   program ,    however    all   other   fetuses    died    in   utero    or   were    miscarried .    jane    is    the    only    one    to    survive   and    have   been   born ,    hence    brenner’s    dedication    and   commitment    to    her .    she    was    always    his    only    chance .
