I'll Scare You

[turns her head to see him sitting there, doesn’t recognize him at first but feels a part of her memory come back] Hi.

[quickly looks at her] Dory.. hey. How are you feeling? [strokes her cheek]

[finally waking up, looks around and notices she’s in the hospital]

[sitting by her bed with his face in his hands, his leg shaking]

My parents want me to meet them and if i do well it will most likely end with them wanting me to move in with them and so on and so forth. Thanks -smiles weakly-

But I dont want you to leave and meet them.. Dont you like us being roommates? [nods and pats his back] You're welcome.

Ya well i may not have one for long….-gets up slowly- do you have to be so loud?

Why might you not have one for long? [helps him up] I'm not even talking loud and I'm not going to whisper.

AHHHHH

I'm so over you, Michael. Get up, take a shower, and go lay down in your bed. You have one for a reason.

You’re one of those students.  I guess all schools have one or two.

"One of those students"? What? A student who wants to be successful? I think there should be more than one or two, it should be the whole school.

No. Well, yes. But no… I just don’t wanna be sad anymore I think.

You shouldnt be sad. I know why you are sad and he isnt worth it, Bailey. It just didnt work out but you should still be friends and just forget about him in a love way. If you want to go home, let's drop everything and go home. But, I need to hear you say "James, I want to go home for sure."

I knew you were gonna say that.. [looks in the opposite direction of him] I’d rather have them treat me how they do than have other people do it…

So you really want to go back home?

Everything. [lays down on his bed] We might as well go home like you wanted instead of having drama… We could have the same drama we’re have here at home. It doesn’t make sense anymore. I give up…

[lays back down] What? We are not leaving, we cant just pack everything up and leave just because everything seems bad and stressful. Plus, I have Dory now.. And you dont want to be with mom and dad. 

Just do what I would do and don’t do them

As nice as that sounds, I cant do that. I want to be valedictorian. 

I’m not… I’m just thinking.

No it’s not… Who cares about your responsibilities if you’re sad and tired all the time? You never think about you and it makes me sad…

Yes it is. I'm not sad. I will admit I am tired but that's just how it has to be. There are only a few weeks left of school so I will have a short break then. I'll be sad for the rest of my life if I screw up now. Dont worry about me.
