For most of us the year 2020 was like getting hit with a swinging burlap sack, full of doorknobs while sitting on the toilet... Not what you would call a “Kodak moment”. In an attempt to illuminate what good came out of last year ( it felt good to say “last year” lol) here is a list of good stuff that I will remember.

Screen Favourites: The Mandalorian! ( made me love Star Wars again ), Blacklist, Ratched, A Color in Space, re-watching The X-files, Netflix adding a ton of Miyazaki animations and Disney+
Favourite Comics/Books: The Talismen, Seven to Eternity, Locke & Key, Batman: Curse of the White Knight, Wonder Woman: Dead Earth, Once & Future and the discovery of Moebius & the Bande Dessinée
Discovered Foods: Rosemary spice, Vegan baked Muffins/bread, mushroom saute, Carrots ( blanched & sauteed), Pakistani/Bangladesh spice rubs ( hotter than the bowels of hell ) Curry pulled Pork, Delicio Stuffed Crust pizza and Rocket Burgers ( local burger joint )
Oddballs: I got addicted to youtube videos of Locomotive cam’s from other countries. Mostly Japan, Netherlands and Czech Republic. I spent a lot of time watching the pov of a train operator as if I was driving them. Peaceful and scenic.
Favourite purchases that were waaaaay too expensive (yet worth it): Kickstarter pledge to “How to Think When You Draw” by the Etherington Brothers, Industrial grade coffee brewer, Laptop + Tablet Monitor (cintique knock-off brand), Annual membership to Adobe Photoshop suite
Neat things I saw in my window: Delivery people that can’t find anything, Squirrels slowly getting fatter but also faster?!, I could of sworn I saw a laser pointer once, and does really strong wind count? ( a gale perhaps?)
Goodbye to: Too much sugar, too many working hours, procrastination (maybe tomorrow), physical perfection ( I’m fabulous the way I am ), Trump (see ya!! Don’t let the door hit you on the way out...), Clothes I’ve had too long, Kitchen junk I don’t use
Hello to: Part-time entrepreneurship, Judo, Web Comics, Book writing, my own personal online store, Dutch and/or Bosnian cuisine and a unique home training method that feels like “play”
