Villa Clarisse is a minimalist residence located in Knokke, Belgium, designed by Merijn Degraeve. The most consequential decision in this project was not made by the designer at all. It was made by the house. During the initial strip-out, the original concrete ceilings surfaced from beneath a farmhouse costume of faux beams and an oversized fireplace, and their raw structural honesty forced the entire material palette to pivot.

Estúdio Ruído Branco is a minimalist studio interior located in São Paulo, Brazil, designed by (CYRO)Arquitetura. White noise fills the entire sound spectrum precisely so that nothing inside it can be singled out, and Cyro Neto borrows that acoustic logic as a spatial method.

Apartamento JLS is a minimalist apartment located in São Paulo, Brazil, designed by Suite Arquitetos. Set near one of São Paulo’s busiest avenues, the residence resists the velocity of its context by making raw matter the slowest thing in the room.
