“Johnny, I’m home!” you called as you stepped into the house.

At that point, you were choking back sobs and sniffles, but you couldn’t do much about the tears that rushed down your face. The questions he asked were valid and if you were being really honest, you knew you couldn’t tell him with confidence you only had eyes on him and only wanted to be with him for the rest of your life. “Hey, how was your trip?” Just the sound of her voice choked you up, knowing just how disappointed she would be in you hearing your story, but at the same time, you knew there was no one else who could give you as good advice as she could.

After hanging up, you were hesitant to face Johnny, but you knew it’d be rude to leave without notice, so you made your way up to the bedroom to tell him where you were going.

“It’s so hard to choose…” you muttered under your breath, trying to the best of your ability to suppress the emotions that were building up inside.

“No one said it’d be easy, but for all three of your sakes, the sooner you make a decision, the better. And also, I forgot to mention, I assume you haven’t told Johnny yet about what happened with Jaehyun on the trip, so I suggest you start with that. If you can’t be transparent and honest with him, then his trust in you will be tainted more than it already is and in the long run, you’ll put a lot of strain on your relationship with him.”

“How the hell do I even bring that up?”

“I don’t know… I think you just have to do it, like ripping off a bandaid. This isn’t really something you can just squeeze into a typical everyday conversation. Just tell him, ‘Hey, there’s something I need to talk about with you,’ and then explain everything.”

“But…” you started, but the moment you even thought about the words you were about to say, you got choked up and tears started to well up in your eyes, “But what if he wants to break up with me after I tell him?”

“As much as it pains me to say it, he does have the right to say that if he really wants to. If that’s what he decides, there isn’t much that can be done about it. I’m sure with how he feels about you, I could easily persuade him to change his mind, but then his decision would be biased and untrue to his actual feelings. I can only see that hurting both of you in the end.”

“Fuck…” you groaned, finally letting it all out as you cupped your face in your hands.

“Whatever happens, I’ll still be here for you,” Emily assured, rubbing a comforting hand to the small of your back. “Take your time thinking about it tonight, alright? Let me know if there’s anything I can do to help.”

Unable to make coherent sentences in your current state, you only gave a small nod in acknowledgement. If anything, you decided you should at least do as Emily had said and tell Johnny everything regarding Jaehyun, especially the situation with the hotel room. The more you thought about it, the more anxious it made you and it even tempted you to run away from the issue yet again… but you knew you couldn’t, not this time. I don’t know him well enough to say if he’s better for you than me, since I’ve only heard about his bad traits, but I think now that you’ve reconnected with him, sorted everything out, and improved your mental health, maybe it’s time for you to go back to him.”
