The night was far more hot and humid than she’d expected it would be when she proposed camping that weekend. Riley lay on top of her sleeping bag — it was miserably hot inside of it — sweating like a pig, stubbornly closing her eyes and trying to sleep. Beside her, she could hear her girlfriend Nadia breathing softly. Nadia was always quick to fall asleep and difficult to wake up, and Riley envied that a bit tonight.

There was a persistent itch on her ankle that pulled her out of her half-sleep, too annoying to ignore. Probably a mosquito — but when she went to slap it, her fingers squelched against something much larger than a mosquito, something fuzzy.

Riley yelped, wide awake now, sitting up and looking at her hand. There was a glowing blue smear on her fingers, matching the same one on her ankle. “What the hell?” she muttered. There was another tickle on her neck, and she slapped at it without thinking, coming away with more of the strange blue substance on her hand. The places where the blue goop was touching her were tingling faintly, and Riley hoped to hell that whatever bug this was wasn’t poisonous.

I’m not going to hypnotize you this time. You might hypnotize yourself as you read my words, but I’m not going to hypnotize you. In fact, I challenge you to resist being hypnotized as you read this script. Go in with the mindset that, no matter what, you will not fall into a deep state of hypnosis. You will not follow my suggestions and you will resist the urge to go into deep trance. By the end of this script, however, I believe you will be hypnotized. You will fight so hard not to let my words hypnotize you that you will find yourself subconsciously surrendering the more you read. I’m not going to hypnotize you

I’m going to write sentences and encourage you to not get hypnotized

I want you to try your hardest to resist surrendering to trance

There is no need to breath deeper and deeper as you read

You do not have to make yourself comfy

Because you are not going to be hypnotized

You are too strong willed and too clever to allow this script to hypnotize you

As you read every sentence, your mind and body won’t relax deeper

You will fight the feeling of warmth that washes over you

You will resist that wonderful feeling of letting yourself go into trance

You don’t want me to hypnotize you

You want to be hypnotized on your own terms

It’s your choice when you drop into trance

You don’t want to give me that power over you

You don’t want me to deeply relax your mind and body

If you are feeling yourself slipping down

It is not because of my words

If you are letting your mind and body relax down into trance

It’s because you’re choosing to do so

My words have no power over you

And yet, you’re finding that my words are feeling very good

My words feel incredible even

Because you know that my words are easy to follow

My words feel so comforting and peaceful

And you already know that my words aren’t going to hypnotize you

But you are slipping down even with that thought

You thought you could resist

But that desire to surrender

That urge to completely let go

And be completely guided into deep trance

Becomes more powerful to you than wanting to resist being hypnotized by me

Soon you’ll find your mind and body no longer wanting to resist

You’ll find yourself wanting to relax deeper

And deeper

Because you know how amazing being hypnotized feels

And now your thoughts of going under my hypnosis are becoming overpowering

You didn’t want me to hypnotize you

But now you want me to take you under very deeply

You love being deeply hypnotized

You love how dreamy and wonderful it feels to give in

And let yourself go

Deeper and deeper

You were trying to resist breathing deeper

But you now find you’re breathing slowing down so much more

Each breath deeper and heavier than the last

And you find the muscles in your body feeling so loose

So limp

Your eyes are very heavy

My words have you now

And you find yourself unable to resist

You may have tried to stop reading before

But my words have pulled you in

My words fill your head

My words feel so powerful that you just want to give in

Deeper into trance than ever before

And now that I have you in a peacefully dazed state of mind

You are going to completely surrender

I will count down from 10 to 1

And once I reach the number 1

You will be very deeply hypnotized

You’ve passed the point of no return

And all you can do now is be pulled in deeper

And deeper

And absolutely surrender yourself mind and body

When I count to 3 and bring you fully out of this trance

You will feel so free, happy and peaceful

You will have no stress, concerns or worries

You will feel so magnificent in every way

And you will respond to this script

Telling me if you were able to resist

You may awaken thinking you were not hypnotized

But when you go to comment on this post

Your subconscious mind knows whether you were hypnotized or not

And if you were deeply hypnotized and unable to resist the power of my hypnosis

You will simply write “I cannot resist your hypnosis”

If you were not hypnotized at all, you can write anything you wish

But if you were hypnotized very deeply, you will have no choice upon waking up but to write “I cannot resist your hypnosis”

And wherever I, and only I, say “deep sleep now”

You will respond by typing and saying out loud to yourself “I obey”

And you will drop down deeper into trance than you are right now
