a faraway look settles upon her face as she peers down at her beloved city. her eyes sweep too and fro, watching as the people of liyue move like clockwork at the day’s end for the morrow. as the sun dips into the sea for the moon to rise, a stillness so tangible settles over the auspicious city. her lips quirk up at the corners as she returns her gaze upon her companion, eyes bright. “yes, and it never fails to take my breath away. there will come a day when i will see all of teyvat from this very window. and all who inhabit these lands will gaze upon the jade chamber in return—” ningguang speaks of her lofty ambition with passion and certainty “—it’s a matter of when, not if. just watch, i’ll turn my dreams into a reality that no one can deny. perhaps then those naysayers can put their feet in their mouths as they should—” she expels a snort, finding the image of liyue’s most uptight and pretentious nobles choking on their sumeran silk sandals laughable “—i can’t wait to see it. the view of teyvat from above the clouds. i’m sure it’ll be quite breathtaking.”

                    HE DOESN’T FEEL LIKE IT FITS HIM, and not just in a literal sense. this isn’t what he’s used to - soft linens and traditional garb. maybe others humans will notice he doesn’t belong and call him on it like they sometimes do in mondstadt. maybe everyone will know he’s different.

                  but ningguang seems happy to seem him, genuinely so, he can smell the summer breeze that wafts about her - a scent of joy. razor doesn’t feel nearly as awkward as he did when he first stepped in. she has a unique ability to raise his strength, while settling his nerves at the same time. wolfkin wonders just how she manages to do that so consistently.

“yes, that’s correct. it’s a formal way of saying to walk around leisurely—” ningguang explains to him while taking his arm, resting her hand gently at the crook of his elbow. with a nod towards the attendants, they dismiss themselves quietly, leaving them alone. once outside, ningguang fixes her features into a mask of cold indifference, eyes hooded and calculating as she leads them through the busy streets of liyue. once they settle into the flow of the crowd, ningguang continues their earlier conversation “—it’s how many of these nobles flaunt their status and luxurious standard of living. a very pretentious practice, but one i think we ought to indulge in. you look absolutely adorable, and i think it’s only fair that i get to share how cute my ward is with the rest of the harbor. i’m sure some will feel quite blessed for you are a sight for sore eyes, child—” she teases razor by ruffling the tufts of hair that fall over his brow, painted lips parted into a mischievous, toothy grin “—but most of all, i want you to enjoy yourself, alright? if it gets to be too much, we can rest a while. we could visit some of the food stalls that appeal to you.”
