Okay i know this might be rude but what is the point to be fit for cosplay when it is suppose to be for fun not for to impress everyone! I find it to where i can cosplay someone whether they fit or not but when i sort of found this i wondered whats the point
While I can’t speak for everyone, I can share my personal reasons. Others are more than welcome to reblog and share their own stories for why they’re doing this as well.
For me, being fit a confidence booster. Being able to actually HAVE muscles when I’m cosplaying Korra is the greatest feeling in the world. They aren’t the best muscles, and they certainly don’t outshine some of the amazingly fit Korra cosplayers out there, but they’re mine and I worked hard for them and they make me damn proud. I’m happier when cosplaying because of it. I’m having more fun. I’m not doing it to impress anyone.
As for losing weight, I did that for my own post-con happiness. When cosplaying, I’m having fun. Always. But then, when I would look at photos after the event, all I would see was my size. This was a normal, every day problem I had, too.
After so long about being sad about my weight, I finally decided to do something about it. But like every fitness journey, I had the biggest problem with staying motivated. It took me a while to figure out that cosplay makes for the perfect motivator.
- It has the means for you to make an inspirational board.
- It gives you a deadline for your goals thanks to cons.
- It’s part of a community where there is always so much support.
Last Fanime was the first time I was ever able to go back and look at my photos and feel happy about what I was seeing. Ironically enough, it was also the first time someone accused me of being too fat to cosplay the character I was as well. /shrugsThis blog isn’t here to tell people they need to get in shape to cosplay. It’s to help those who want to do it for themselves.
More corset making.
Making another corset. I love this cute red stripe-y lining. I think my water is too hard, because my iron started getting nasty buildup as i ironed the inner drill. Fortunately, some vinegar and baking soda cleaned it right up.
Muslin mockup of Howl's shirt. Made from Butterick B4486 as a base.
