Well, he’d take it. He knew Jade wasn’t really one for the more loving of emotions anyways. “ You always look good though. I don’t see what snacks as to do with it, ” he replied with a laugh. Yes, Jack was sort of playing up the charm in that sentence, but he really did think she was pretty. “ Chocolate-covered fries. That’s interesting. ” It wasn’t a mean-spirited reply. “ I can see why you’d like it. Salty and sweet. The same reason why people like milkshakes and fries. ” It took him a moment to respond. “ Other than pretzels ?? ” He laughed again. “ I’ve very fond of sour candies, to be honest. And most things with cheese -like nachos !!”

“i know i do. but good on you for noticing, pumpkin.” she patted him on the arm, actually patted. light and friendly. it was like she was a completely different person whens he talked to jack. a person only beck had seen. and tori, on occasion. she shrugged with one shoulder. “guess that’s where it came from. started with a chocolate milkshake, then decided to take it further. no point in doing anything halfway.”  she wasn’t really surprised that the king of halloween would love candy. “candy’s good. hey, maybe one day if you’re a good boy we can share some nachos.”

Narrowing his eyes, Jack only smiled more. “ You just said I wasn’t awful, ” he replied, genuinely touched by the sentiment. He knew Jade wasn’t one for grand gestures of affection, so he’d take it. “ Snacks are delicious, and to Hell with the consequences !! ” he exclaimed with a laugh. “ So, my dear, you didn’t answer my question. What is your favorite snack ?? ”

“i said you’re not AS awful. you just suck less than everyone else, don’t flatter yourself thinking i like you.” she did. and to anyone else she would refer to him as her friend. but elling him that to his face? no thanks. “wearing these clothes takes more effort than you’d think. and i look too good in them to change my style.” she rolled her eyes, taking a small bite of the pretzel before answering. “fries, i guess. chocolate. fries covered in chocolate. nachos. what about you?”

“got a problem with my choice of snacks, pumpkin face?”

“It hasn’t been the best of days so far. Really, failing? That bad? Well, at least I tried.” 

“oh no, poor baby had a bad day. sad face emoji. did you really try? REALLY?”

“Well no, and to be fair I’ve never talked to you before. But when someone’s hurt, it doesn’t matter if you know them or not. If they need your help, you should help them. At least that’s what my mom used to say.” He replied, as he came back with the disinfectant and some bandages.

“that is an interesting outlook. when people get hurt i usually just take pictures and laugh. i would’ve done that if it had been you instead of me.” she bit the insides of her cheeks, avoiding looking at him in the eyes. “but thanks. or whatever.” 

“i’d love to see a t-rex roaming the streets of new york, looking for lunch.”

“is it really that terrible if the person you’re accompanying you is having a good time as well?’’ warren burrowed his brow, he was unsure if this movie night was work going, or at least with her, if he had to deal with her.  but warren needed to get out, he needed to distract himself from everyone else. “that sounds painful, i knew a lot of people don’t like hanging out with me and etc. but hell, didn’t know it was that bad.’’ his words lingered for a moment. “well what are you going to do about it? i’m telling you to do something, and you’re telling me to do something.  too bad.’’ warren shook his head.

“i hate it when other people feel joy. it gives me a rash.” other people’s suffering was the best entertainment, anyway. “don’t flatter yourself, all boys are disgusting.” most boys, she reminded herself at the thought of brown eyes and tan skin.  “listen, you skinny piece of stale play-doh, i want to watch a horror movie. i want to get out and watch people suffer on a screen. i’m hot and i’m cool, and i know no one else with that description would bother talking to you. you’re going to take me to that movie, and buy me what i told you to buy me. and you are not going to try to give another order. otherwise, i’ll make sure your ears know what fabric your underwear’s made of.” 

ground rules? isn’t this suppose to be a fun night for the both of us?  so i have to buy you popcorn and soda, but it’s not a da…?’’ warren stopped speaking. “okay, but you can’t try holding my hand either then.’’ warren teased back. “no matter how scared you get. and you have to eat some sour patch kids too.’’

“i couldn’t care less about whether or not you have fun. you could fall off the empire state building and i would still not care. say the word date and your crotch will meet my knee.” her face twisted in disgust. “i would rather chop my hand off with the world’s dullest scissors while sinjin squeezes a lemon on the wound than go anywhere near yours.” was any horror movie worth dealing with this ass for more than ten seconds? probably not. “are you trying to tell me what to do? NO ONE tells me what to do.”
