Uhm I honestly can’t remember who moss and moon were between applejack and twilight but I do know jade was fluttershy… for me uhhh it’s kind of complicated bc there was a whole plot point to the dream where I was nervous to say I wanted to be princess Luna so like last minute was her and got like barrel rolled out of the sky but one of u saved me. Uhhhhhhhhhhhhh starlight glimmer was just herself 😭 idk WHAT frootloops my head was on

I can’t for the life of me remember who won but like the dream ended with all of us in some ice cream neon dimension 🥹

talking with an aroace friend about being on the arospec and one thing that i’ve thought about a lot is the concept of labelling yourself and how it sometimes feels like you have to fit into a nice little stereotype of what that label means.

take being aromantic, for example. i love romance. i love it in fiction, i love the idea of being in a relationship, i love seeing it around me. it’s something that society has expected me to want, yes, and it’s restrictive to assume that i want it, but it doesn’t mean that i have to or want to reject it in my life. but i don’t feel actual romantic attraction, or at least not the way that everyone else seems to, so i call myself aromantic. except sometimes it feels like people think the two things can’t coexist. and since nobody talks about alterous/queerplatonic attraction, it’s a constant decision of “do i just not talk about how i feel here, or do i let the person i’m talking to assume its romantic so i don’t have to spent hours explaining?” even to people on the arospec, it sometimes feels like if i talk about it they’ll go “oh, so you’re not really aro/less aro”. and that feels just as restrictive as the people around me expecting me to feel romantic attraction!! and i could say oriented aroace/cupioromantic, but chances are if someone doesn’t know what alterous and queerplatonic attraction are, they won’t know what those mean either!! and then suddenly it’s back to explaining!!

or being trans, another example. it’s so frustrating to have to constantly worry about how i’m dressing and acting because if i look feminine, no matter how many times i ask for primarily he and they pronouns, they always default to she. it’s gotten to the point where a lot of times i just tell people he/they because it feels like they see “she” and go “that’s easier, i’ll just do that”. if you don’t fit the generic idea of a trans man, suddenly people just decide you’re not trans!! and then you get misgendered, and you have to either accept it or pull out a goddamn powerpoint to explain it!!

I haven't had very many discussions about my experience with aromanticism or asexuality, but I have a feeling that if I ever try to express my love for another person, it won't be received the way I want it to be.

I think I'm sapphic-oriented aroace, and the easiest way for me to explain that is to call myself "gay in theory, but not in practice".

Except, that's not the best description and might lead to people thinking I'm repulsed when I'm not. It's a tough world out there. You are valid. We are valid. The way that you love is unique to you.
