“Well someone told me it could be used for dating as well.” Kennedy said. “He brought his mom on on the date.” She said. “Like, she drove him to the restaurant and she had dinner with us.”

“I’ve been told that it’s rare to find someone willing to date, and it seems even then, it’s a weirdo.” Jada commented. “His mom?” Jada echoed, a loud laugh soon leaving her lips. “How old was he? Did he know it was a date? Oh, God, that’s awful. I’m so sorry you had to experience that.”

“Downloading Tinder was the worst thing I’ve ever done and dating fucking sucks.” Kennedy looked at the person who sat down next to her. She had just finished yet another awful date at The Lemon Tree and was now at 21 Red. “Next time I say I wanna go on a date or you hear that word come from my lips, lock me away like that Disney Princess.”

Jada chuckled at the girl’s statement. “You were quite ambitious if you were using Tinder for dating.” She told her, handing the bartender money as he poured her drink. “What happened? If you don’t mind me asking.”

Zara sighed and pouted slightly. “ I was just going to sit on my balcony to read my book and eat lunch but suddenly it was I was asleep and it was three hours later and I’m now considering peeling my skin off to make the pain stop”

“Three hours?!” Jada repeated. She didn’t want to think about how uch that ust be hurting her. “I suggest an ice bath like, right now.”

“….Please don’t laugh” Zara grimaced as she sat down, skin with every movement. “I fell asleep reading in the sun and yes, I know I look like a lobster. CVS doesn’t have any after sun so I think I might be dying”

Jada scanned the girl’s body examining her very burnt skin. “I’m not going to laugh,” She assured her, moving in her seat so she was closer to her. “But did you not even consider applying sunscreen today?”

“Oh the crab costume is happening. At least I think so - I’m kinda torn between that and King Triton.“ He paused for a second, his eyes narrowing slightly as he considered his options. “Maybe I should do the whole… dress up as a crab, then rip the costume off and have a Triton costume underneath. That has to blow them away, right?”

A loud laugh left Jada’s mouth as they continued to discuss this. The images he was putting in her mind were hilarious, she hoped her laughing wouldn’t offend him in anyway though. “That would definitely blow them away. It’d be a twist that no one would ever see coming. You have to do that!”

“Well, well, well, now that there’s money on the table you sound a whole lot more interested, huh?” he joked, shaking his head at her. “I guess our entire future now rests entirely on your willingness to slide around the floor in a mermaid costume. Who would have thought?”

“Doesn’t money make everything more interesting?” She asked, quirking her brow before giving him another grin. “I never thought I would even consider doing something like that before today, but now? Maybe it’s a possibility.” She teased. “I mean, as long as I see you dressed in a red crab costume, it’ll be worth it, right?”

“I don’t know, will you be sporting a mermaid costume?” he joked… though obviously he wouldn’t mind if she agreed to that. “You can also be a fish, I guess. I don’t know which is less embarrassing. honestly. And hey, if we’re lucky, maybe they’ll pay us for promoting the seafood! aisle!”

“Oh, yeah, my sat on the floor wearing a mermaid tail sounds like so much fun.” She said, playfully rolling her eyes. “I can’t believe you just thought up of a fool-proof business right on the spot. We’re gonna be billionaires!”

The move had been exhausting, even with all the help she’d had from her crew, but she’d done it. Up in room 505 of The Ragnatela sat her penthouse, perfectly organised with a king size bed screaming her name, but she’d refused; it was only lunch, and she wanted to explore. Reagan had waved her guard — something her parents insisted on ‘for the first couple of days, sweetie’ — down when he attempted to accompany her to the closest cafe where she’d grabbed lunch. Sitting, she flipped through the latest Vogue, stopping when she felt somebody’s eyes on here. Looking up, she tipped her head slightly, “It’s rude to stare, you know. My face is on enough magazines that you don’t have to, anyways.”

As Jada finished her coffee, she had the strangest feeling that she knew who was sitting on the table next to her. Searching her mind, she knew who the person was, but was unable to find a name to put with her face. However, before she had realised what she was doing, Jada was being called out for staring. “Oh God, sorry,” She began, feeling heat race to her cheeks. “I just swear I’ve seen your face before.” She explained, hoping she’d come across as less creepy. It was the comment about magazines that tipped her off. “Oh, you’re Reagan Flowers, aren’t you? My sister loves you.”

“Oh, a flash mob! Jada, my friend, you are a genius. And you really should consider joining, cause this thing just got a whole lot more interesting.” He chuckled, not really intending on going dancing anywhere. He was just having fun seeing if she could be convinced. “I’m Sebastian, so we’ll be singing Under the Sea next. Obviously.”

“I regret ever opening my mouth,” She told him, holding her head in her hands. Giving him the idea of a flash mob? Well done, Jada! “Oh, yeah. That’d be insulting if you didn’t sing that. Tell me, will you be sporting a bright red crab costume?”

“Yeah that’s what I thought, but I’m not having any of that. You’re either with mem or against me,” he told her jokingly, throwing in a wink for added emphasis. “Reminds me, you didn’t tell me your name, did you? I’m going to need it so I can prove that you definitely know me.”

“I don’t wanna be with you, because there’s no way I’m going to be starting a flash mob, but I’m also not against you, ‘cause I support your decision if that’s what you wanna do!” She chuckled. “I’m Jada, tell anyone I know you and I’ll definitely be changing it.”

Jada was pleased with how things were going at the Ragnatela. Already she had managed to make some good impressions on the fellow tenants, and now she was planning to hang out with one of them. Jada and Waverly hit it off immediately, there was nothing better than that feeling. No forced conversation or awkward pauses, just easy conversation.

Double checking she packed all her necessities, Jada was ready to meet up Waverly. Heading up to the floor in the elevator, Jada checked their texts to refresh her memory of what apartment to head to. 201. Stepping out of the elevator, she quickly found the door to Waverly’s place. Knocking three times, she waited for her new friend to answer the door so they could head down to the beach together.

“Yes! You’ve got yourself a date!” 

“Great!”
