Dot. The making of.

Here’s a little film that takes you behind the scenes at Aardman. It reveals what went in to making the world’s smallest character animated film and how it was shot using a Nokia N8.

The main character Dot was only 9mm tall, and required to be 3D Printed in 50 poses.

To promote its mobile streaming services, Sky Go installed a special transmitter on a train window that allows it to ‘talk’ to people.

Dubbed ‘The Talking Window’, it releases “high-frequency vibrations” that are translated into sounds by the brain—imitating a ‘voice’ in the person’s head.

According to the video, it uses a technology known as ‘bone conduction’ and only the person leaning on the window will be able to hear the message.

Points is an entirely new way to help people find where to go by serving up the best of what's going on relative to where they are. It leverages content from Foursquare, Twitter, transportation APIs, RSS feeds and many other online sources, but more importantly it can be expanded to work with almost any online data source and adapt to any location where it’s installed.

BIOSTAGOG – an interactive sculpture which combines algorithmic design, 3D printing, mapping and interaction, created jointly by Platige Image and Bridge.

Kinetic sound sculpture in abandoned chemical tank

Swiss-based installation art studio studio zimoun in collaboration with architect Hannes Zweifel> created this automated architecture/instrument inside an abandoned chemical tank in Switzerland. Using a series of DC-motors to mechanically beat 329 cotton balls against the hollow drum of the tank. The results are both cacophonous and soothing in their consistency.

Me and Sad Keanu: A 3D-Printing Story

It all began in June of 2010 when a photographer spotted Keanu Reeves eating a sandwich on a New York park bench. In one shot, Reeves looks dejected for reasons unknown. The image was metastatic: he was isolated from the original and pasted into new scenes all over the web. Sad Keanu was born, and then reborn, as a life-like 3D rendering.

We first join a scene at “London Gym” where a man pumps out crunches during a workout, then go to a rugby match in East London, South Africa, where a boy breaks the line handing off a larger opponent. In Little London, Jamaica, a female boxer works the pads with consummate skill and precision. In London, Ohio, we see a close up of a focused young baseball player catch the ball and throw it to first base in one seamless action. While each athlete defines their own goals and success, they are all connected by a unifying sense of what greatness could be to them

Hemoba Foundation (Blood Foundation) in Brazil partnered with Bahia football club Esporte Clube Vitoria to run “My Blood is Red and Black”, an award winning integrated advertising campaign. The state of Bahia was experiencing a shortage of blood. To raise awareness of this problem and increase the blood stocks, the popular football club changed the stripes of their iconic jerseys from red to white. The team only replaced the red on the jerseys stripe by stripe over the course of the season, as blood stocks rose.
