Alpha

Okay, so his whole demeanour and expression gave nothing away as to whether he knew the entire conversations which had occurred between her and JC. Although he didn’t look shocked by it either, So the blonde didn’t delve any further, instead she nodded. “She told me about the war and that was why I had to go and think about it rather than make a quick decision, but my answer is still the same. Yes I want to.” Her visual remained on him as she inhaled deeply through her nostrils. “It’s not safe for me anyway right now..and on my own I know I wont be safe.” Her hues slid to look at the floor before connecting with him again. She wanted to feel like she belonged somewhere too and she did with them–though she held back from saying. “I’m sure.”

Jackson sat back down again and pulled from his glass. Jackson had a feeling it wouldn’t be safe for anyone much longer. The city was a powder keg ready to explode at any minute from the slightest spark. He was wondering if his sentencing would finally be that spark.

Her brow raised and she just shot him a somewhat indignant look. “No.” Letting out a frustrated sigh, she threw her hands up. 

“You sound like one.”

Reina, about ready to go off the handle again, forced herself to take a few deep breaths. She had been especially on edge, and considering she was never one to really let her anger go anyways, when she was high strung, things could typically go from bad to worse. “Right now, I don’t care about a bigger picture. Can you at least pretend for me that you don’t either? Just this once?”

“I can’t right now.” As the alpha he had to plan for the worse and hope for the best. “I can’t make anymore mistakes now.” He already almost ruined everything once. Jackson was still the reason they were in this current predicament. 

“You don’t care what I say on this…”

“Of course I care, but that doesn’t mean I’ll listen.”

“Well I will because…” She was about to be stubborn and say she would definitely do what she said, then realised he actually agreed. “Good?..oh..well yes, good!” She nodded and gave a smile, but it disappeared a little a few moments later. “You must’ve….I have used it loads of times and I am sure you will have in the past too even when you are anything but fine.”

“Man, were you trying to be a shrink or something?”

“We need more, just wait. I can do this I can figure something out. The last two months I haven’t been doing anything.” 

“Just one month.”

Delaney just nodded, hearing the names of the other members of the Waya pack, giving a faint smile at his words. “I don’t like sage either.” A few things really got up her nose–literally, Lavender being another she couldn’t stand the smell of. “JC..umm..has she spoken to you about me?” The blonde found it awkward bringing up the subject. As much as she was the confident sort–she did have insecurities like everyone else and she really hoped JC had discussed their conversation with him. “She said..well..she said I could join your pack and I know that’s down to you..so can I?” In the end she chose the blunt and direct option. “She told me to go and think about it and I did…and it’s what I wanted before all this about my mother…but more so than ever now.”

Jackson cocked his head to the side. JC had mentioned it specifically but he wasn’t surprised. She did a lot of things without referring to him. Having been the alpha while he was gone and even before that, JC did as she wished and often only came to him when things were really bad. But he didn’t tell Delaney that, his relationship with his sister was probably not something she cared about hearing now. “Has she told you have this war that’s started? I have no problem with you joining that pack, I’d welcome it, but I want to be sure you know this is not a safe time for us.” For any of the wolves really.
