❛ you know, i say all the time that i’m tired… but like that doesn’t even begin to cut it. truthfully, it isn’t even a temporary state for me. i’m gonna have to come to terms with i’m a sleepy girl. it’s just an inherent part of my personality now… unless i take about two or three naps throughout my day. i’m a petty, tired, sleepy, royal bitch. take it or leave it at this point, baby. ❜ //. @hhhqstarters

“i think i’ve been perpetually tired since i was sixteen,” jackson chuckled. “it’s not a fun club to be a part of either. do you go through stages where you can do nothing but sleep all day and then there will be a few weeks where you can’t sleep at all?” jackson couldn’t remember the last time he had more than four hours of uninterrupted sleep. “i thought i was going to be that parent who didn’t rely on nap time, but i can’t make it through the day without taking a nap when my kids take a nap.”

“i don’t know how you do it, mate. if i opened a bar or restaurant or whatever, i wouldn’t be able to work it. not because i wouldn’t because i don’t want to or that i think working is beneath me,” he quickly clarified. “i just would go a little crazy over people coming to just see me or talk to me? that would get old fast,” jackson rolled his eyes with a chuckle. “you know, i think this may be the only place in america where the beer doesn’t taste like piss, so cheers to that.”

“i just don’t understand how they can have such big emotions in such tiny little bodies. i guess, that’s probably why they have meltdowns over the tiniest things,” he rolled his eyes dramatically. “he’s got about a week until i just give up and start eating my toast in the pantry,” he laughed. “i’ve even tried that thing where i give him my toast and pretend his is mine? he still only wants one bite of mine and then all - okay, some - of his. kids really are the boss.”

❝ if you’re eating it, he has to double-check that he doesn’t like it. noah’s all the time stealing my food, even if he hates it. ❞ margarita offered a half-sympathetic smile. ❝ the second tantrum, i would gladly deal with over the first. if he tries it and realizes he ate something he didn’t like, he made that decision on his own and i could live with that, personally if it were me, more than the other. ❞

“kids really are something else. i miss the days when he only ate baby food and had no opinions,” he shook his head with and laughed lightheartedly. “that is a really good point. i tried to warn him that it’s going to taste the same it always does. not my fault if he doesn’t believe me.”

“i think you need to reset bodhi. does he come with a factory reset button? i’v been looking for faye’s for the past year and sadly, i cannot find it anywhere. i think the one where he eats something he doesn’t like is better than the other one. i’ve done it to faye a few times and i always tell her ‘see? didn’t i tell you?’ how about a shot of vodka in your coffee to start the day?” 

“i wish he came with a reset button. he needs those aussie genes to be more present,” jackson mock pouted. “doesn’t he know he’s supposed to just like vegemite? you’re probably right. telling them know always seems to unleash hell on earth, and i’d rather not deal with that,” he chuckled. “these kids are gonna give us a run for our money.”
