let’s think about it for a second — what kind of people does the pro-shipping community tend to attract? personally, i think people (especially minors in the lord of the flies fandom) who are anti-darkship are probably safer than those who are pro-darkship, especially when you consider the kind of crowd it often draws in. using that as a gotcha against people who associate the community with the majority of weirdos it attracts isn’t the sharp/hot take people think it is

it’s the same argument with censorship. yes, censorship is absolutely an issue, but a lot of (usually) white adults on tiktok weaponise black people and people of colour to make their point. and it all circles back to one thing: they want to ship and romanticise whatever they like, often incest, paedophilia, or rape. meanwhile, the minorities who are actually being censored in real life get little to no attention, unless they’re being used as a prop by people arguing “anti-censorship”
