Jack kneeled down in front of the six year old, he looked concerned, the last kid he’d seen that had come here this young was Ally and even though she was older now he’d seen how it affected her.
“Hey kid, my name’s Jack, what’s yours name, ?,” his head whirled with questions (like what cabin he belonged to or where his siblings were) but he didn’t want to overwhelm the child, he remembered how scary it was; being in a new place like this.
He looked down at the kid’s device, “Do you use that to understand people?”
Jack racked his head for any Greek he could use but came up dry, he hadn’t practised in a while and he only understood Ancient Greek. He’d learned the difference the hard way, it’d been embarrassing…
