A gift for a friend I originally posted on my personal account of her character Alma, a princess with an excess of style and sass.
For a class of mine, we each took a picture from the found magazine website, and then exchanged them randomly with each other to inspire an illustration using two per-assigned colors.My quote was: "I just don't understand these strange midwestern people!"
Above, I have on the left, the picture I turned in. On the right is the picture now after hearing feedback from my lovely classmates, and getting some distance. I feel as though in my attempts to make my picture look finished I ended up overworking it, so I'm actually much happier with the right image. This is a new kind of technique for me, and while I'm maybe slow to learn, I'm excited to utilize it more in the future!
