Well, #oklahoma is definitely the spot. Being out here has given me the time and the space to reflect and decompress a bit while all this craziness is going on. I’ve known I was done with #california for a long time, but i felt tethered to #orangecounty for some reason, regardless of how difficult it became. I was just spinning out trying to make shit work, going going and going just to pay the phone bill sometimes. Fuck that. Stoked for this next chapter, and forever grateful to @the_aaron_goldberg for putting me on a plane (within 12 hours with as much shit as you can grab... cause how else do you move across country?!) with a new opportunity. A child’s enthusiasm. A simple discovery of something tasty, or a new friend they wave “hi” to on the street. Maybe it’s something shiny and attention grabbing. Or, it’s a “flower” (foxtail, found next to a trash can 🤫) that is “pwetty” and now it’s the most important thing in the world. Paying attention to moments like this can serve as a reality check. Am I ignoring moments of joy? Am I giving the right amount of attention to the most important things in my life? Recently, I can’t say that I do... except for moments like this.
