I couldn't find one to fit without giving a wrong impression, so here's a word game!
Another AU idea I had while dozing off: The Helmaroc King is descended from Sky’s Loftwing, but was corrupted and forced to serve Ganondorf instead of bond to its fated rider (Wind). When a blood moon brings it back, finally free of Ganondorf, it starts trying to find Wind and a bad time is had by all.
Silly Game Time: They just updated the operating system that controls reality (oh, by the way, your reality is a simulation controlled by a reprogrammable operating system—sorry about that) and it's now impossible to use all the swear words people used just yesterday. What is a replacement (or some replacements) you would suggest people use from now on?
I mean I don’t swear, so this changes nothing for me. But I will suggest “IIW” (pronounced “ew”), or “Ixy Inappropriate Word” which is a variant on what my college roommates would say around me in lieu of swearing. It flows pretty well (what the iiw. The iiwing nerve. Etc)

Silly Game Time: The Fae have spirited you away to Fairyland ... By which I mean, during your day-to-day activities, you happened to stumble by accident through a fairy circle nobody (including the Fae) knew was there. Where did it turn out this unexpected, accidental fairy circle was located?
Be as specific as you can. Not in way of an address, but more than merely "at work" or "at school". For example, "in the storage closet that smells like mildew" or "in the science room with the weird dent in the ceiling".
It was at the grocery store, where an in-opportune cart crash knocked a carton of baby Bella mushrooms into the floor and they coincidentally rolled into a circle. I ended up in the fairyland grocery store, where a very polite young man with a nametag that read “Hello, my name is my own, you may call me Eugene” was trying to clean up a spilled canister of salt that had also formed a circle.
Curse that turns the chain into goats, but Twilight is immune.
Silly Game Time: While mowing the lawn yestereve, I happened to come upon a baby nue (a Japanese manticore, basically, with the body of a tiger, a snake for a tail, and a monkey's head) hiding in the grass. This is remarkable, as I don't live anywhere even remotely close to Japan. Like, there's an ocean and a lot of continent between me and Japan.
But anyway ... I guess I'm going to be raising it now. Any recommendations for what I should call it?
You should name it after your paternal grandfather. But I don’t know the name of your paternal grandfather, I’m going to assume his name was probably Jim.
One last self-indulgent MerMay for myself: Syn the Sage of Shadow and Rigito the Sage of Light, from Crossing of Stars. They are everything to me.
Syn is based on a snailfish, found in the deep ocean, and Rigito is based on a threadfin rainbowfish, which is a freshwater tropical fish. Trying to play up how they come from different worlds—literally, since it’s a space fic haha
My sister took Jiji home today and he did not want to go.

MerMay Swamp Link! Though technically he would be a naga, because his “fish” half is based on a water moccasin! I wanted him to be an aquatic snake both because he loves snakes and also because he lives with the fish people and making him part fish is way too easy lol. Hope you like him!

Swamp Link is so energetic, he needs a chance to just relax and enjoy the moon. I considered some other snakes (mostly kraits) but ultimately I wanted something swampy for him, not ocean-dwelling. He’s such a cool guy and was super fun to mer… even if legally he isn’t a mer. I’m glad you like him!
MerMaying Talon! Sorry, I had to shoot your special guy with the fish beam… except technically I based his tail on a manatee, so I hit him with the aquatic mammal beam. Since manatees are sometimes called “sea cows” I thought it fit!

I’ve been on a MerMay kick and wanted to mer one of the lil Links, so here’s Pinky! Normally I try to pick a real fish species, but Pinky having a special fish in his life was too good to pass up. I love Pinky’s older design and wanted to complete the set since he already did the pose based on the OoA game art ;)

MerMay Boots Link! I’ll be real, replacing Boots’ boots with anything was gonna be weird, like that’s literally his namesake. But I had been sitting on the ribbon eel waiting for someone who would be worthy of its majesty, and I figured Boots could be that guy! Giving him a big flashy tail somewhat makes up for losing his boots, right?

Yaaay and yes he totally gets some tail bling and can be snobby about how long and elegant his tail is. It was fun working out how the colors blended along the folds. Also as I was drawing this out my sister walked by and looked at all my references then asked why I was “making Link wear a ribbon eel”. I had no explanation that would satisfy her. Ribbon eels are super silly and cool at the same time, I recommend looking up one’s face sometime xD

Yaaay I’m so glad you like it and I pray your day gets better! I was watching Princess and the Frog in the background while drawing this so I def had water-lilies on the brain and wanted to draw lil Doodle lazing down the river and having a nice time. I did actually think of a plesiosaur initially but then thought that wouldn’t look mermaidy enough. But his mama can totally be one to go exploring with him 🩵🩵🩵🩵
