In theory? To an extent.

But I also think the way they handled it was just enough to get the point across. I would rather have the compacted, poignant emotional crux of the story than to have it extended out and risk ruining it.

CGI wolves? Yeah, no thanks.

And what they did with the aftermath was the meaning. Yes, it was the turning point of Lestat's life, but listen to the dialog in the aftermath.

Lestat is the hero of the village. The townspeople wish to "worship" him. Lestat's father and brothers have been disgraced by Lestat's heroic actions. Lestat did the impossible. Eight. Wolves.

It is stunning.

It's only their facial expressions, but it says everything.

"And I....I am the Vampire Lestat!"

They absolutely get better on rewatch!

You find something new every time, and I think I've rewatched each episode maybe 7 times each by now? I haven't been able to think of anything else. It's consumed my world. 😭

You rewatch and then go back and connect even more puzzle pieces and see things in an entirely different light than you previously did from episode to episode.

I don't even have words anymore.
