I need to see Easton's reaction to seeing ME!Easton for sure
[send a verse to witness Eastonâs appearance in said verse&mainverse Eastonâs reaction to it]
What he saw was something like a shadow of what he knew himself to be like when he was angry. But somehow, this was different. He was not pale like he knew himself to be when he was furious. There was no numb, icy rage in his eyes. No, the man in the mirror didnât seem to be frozen from anger, but there was something else, some steely sense of purpose, the icy force of intent that seemed to have etched itself in the scars on his face and the white-blue glow surrounding his torso as he opened his mouth. Easton could tell very clearly what he was saying, even though the mirror had no sound coming out of its flat surface: Fire.
Even though he could only see part of the soldiers apparently under his command at the edges of the mirror, he saw his own face filling with lights of red and blue and believed he heard the sounds of exploding rifles.
His hand had gone to cover his mouth, and when he slowly lowered it off his face, there were fingernail marks on his skin. There was a long silence before he spoke.
ââŚif thatâs me,â he said, his voice slightly hoarse. He cleared his throat before continuing. âif there were things enough to turn my life like that somehow⌠if heâs anything like meâŚâ He struggled to find words. His shoulders shrunk in on himself. ââŚIâm no stranger to drowning out thoughts in work, but for him, if heâs anything like me⌠thatâs going to be his whole life.â
