kitten update:
after 2 weeks of exclusively being in her kitten room, we opened the hallway and living room to pearl today. I would have opened it sooner, but on monday evening she had a fall (either off the cat tree or off the bed) and hurt her back leg. I called the emergency vet in tears and he said to take her to our usual vet the next day which i did and they gave her some pain medication for a few days. I thought keeping her more contained would be better for a little while longer so today she's gone absolutely wild exploring everywhere and being a little daredevil. she's permanently trying to give me a heart attack I think. and then she sleeps sweetly on my chest and I forget all about it until the next time she spikes my anxiety by doing something she shouldn't
